What can I say!! Well the meal was excellent. The Staff were brilliant and the cider wasn't bad either. This place is under new management and it really does go to show what a bit of hard work does. The last management regime let the place slide. Now it is back to being a nice cosy local pub that does great pub food. It's the best pub food for miles. The food is well presented, the portion size is huge(I didn't even manage to clear my plate) and it is what proper pub food should be like. Our waitress was fantastic. A simple smile goes a long way and nothing was to much trouble. I would fully recommend wholeheartedly. Thank you for a lovely evening

My husband and I booked Sunday lunch for our family which included 2 toddlers that don't eat roast dinners. There isn't an alternative for kiddies on Sundays BUT the staff were brilliant and accommodated their needs. Food was lovely and staff great. "We will be back".

Staying at the caravan site next to the pub so decided to go and have tea. We booked table before hand. Well what a delight. The food was delicious I had the cider glazed belly pork and hubby had the slow cooked lamb shank. Both meals was very tasty. We both had chips and veg with our meals. Both was really nice. Didn't have a pudding as we was both full. Staff very friendly and helpful. Booked to go again in a few days. Really looking forward to trying something else.

We got there before opening time but there was a lovely view from the car park and on a sunny day it was quite pleasant. Once they opened the barman was lovely.

We visited on a wet and wild Friday evening. The welcome was warm and the food was piping hot. Portions are more than generous, the steak was perfectly cooked, the steak and ale pie was amazing, the lasagne was delicious and the sweet chilli chicken breast was succulent and moist. The puds were amazing also! The service was friendly

We were passing on our way back from being on holiday and thourt we pop in for something to eat and a drink. The outside of the pub is very welcoming with lots of parking, including a disabled bay. Beautiful, well maintained garden to the rear. Walking in it gave the impression of a working man's local country pub. But how wrong we was on first impressions. We found a seat and a lady came and gave us a menu. We were shocked at how cheap the menu was. Anyway, my partner ordered the 8oz steak, which comes with onion rings, black pudding chips, and proper salad. The size was massive, and even the Stilton sauce and beautiful. I had the steak pie with puff pasty, chips, peas, and onion pings. This also was very tasty and of a large portion. I had a pint of larger, and my partner had a pink gin. The total was about £43. Cheap price but high-end food. Thumbs up to the chef. As for the rest of the pub the toilets was absolutely spotless. My partner said to me they even have a few extra items for the girls loo. Something she said she's not seen before. We will definitely be going out of our way to visit here again.

Food tasted lovely... Steak was a little under cooked but wasn't fatty and the rest of the food tasted lovely ... Sauce was a good amount too ... Pudding was amazing and good portion... Only small bar area so busy when come to paying the bill and has to queue... Would have been nice of could have paid at the table maybe as standing in a long queue afterwards sort of spoiled the atmosphere a nice meal had made but the staff were lovely and pleasant

Always have had a lovely Sunday lunch so decided this year to go out for Christmas day lunch. From start to finish it was 5 stars. It was just me hubby and mum. Mum had soup which she said was delicious. Hubby pate which was lovely and I had goats cheese and Cranberry filo parcels which were amazing. Roast turkey lunch was delicious and plentiful. Much appreciated the extra roast potatoes and peas for hubby as he is fussy and doesn't eat vegetables or gravy. Did miss a bit of bread sauce but the quality of the meal out weighed the missing of the bread sauce. Desserts were scrummy. Mum was traditional with Christmas pudding which she said was delicious and again plentiful, hubby had cheesecake which he said was lovely and my chocolate orange cone which was light and again delicious. The bread on the table at the start was moorish and the little truffle treats at the end were demolished. Atmosphere was relaxed and happy, staff were excellent and couldn't do enough. Thank you Jane and team for a wonderful, relaxed and stress free meal which we all thoroughly enjoyed
