Great little pub, off the beaten track in Gustard Wood, perfect for a stop off for fabulous refreshments and lovely food. The staff were very friendly and helpful too.
The staff are fun, friendly and welcoming. Lucy who manages the bar at lunchtimes on a very regular basis is particularly good natured and we always have a laugh or two. The food is homemade by Lucy’s mum in the busy kitchen and her dishes are delicious and inventive. She likes to experiment with ne
Had a lovely time at this popular, very low-key pub. I last visited 30 years ago and I cannot see much has changed... Except the brand new toilets. Had a good, filling, lunch. The bill was very reasonable as well e.g. £9.95 for a big main course. Three of us shared basket of whitebait with buttered
Superb pub and very clean over night stay rooms...{I stayed just for one night} But what I was amazed with the most was the breckfast..I still think of it now..one of the best I have had for some time...
Great home cooked menu and always a friendly welcome. Lovely beer garden. The quintessential Hertfordshire country pub!
Great pub. Good selection of drinks and beers. Great food.
Lovely, enchanting old-world pub from approximately 1650 with a great selection of beers, ales, soft drinks and coffee. Fantastic friendly staff !
Good menu catering for various needs, great Sunday roast, well kept beer, ideal location, friendly staff, nothing to complain about here, well worth a visit.
Lovely location and great character. A charming pub. The staff are so friendly and accomodating. Nothing too much trouble. As for the food - wonderful! Great full English breakfast superbly cooked and plenty of it. Went off for a dog walk afterwards in the nearby woods and couldn't resist going back
A great venue for a summer breakfast in the garden. Top class food and friendly service.

Lovely food, totally respect the covid restrictions and friendly staff.
Lovely pub run very well by very friendly people. Great old building, garden and outdoor spaces. Really enjoyed our food after we arrived close to kitchen closing time on a cycle ride. Would recommend!
Lovely quiet little pub in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful surroundings
Hi , I really enjoyed the food and I thought that the atmosphere was very good. The food took a few minutes to arrive but no issue. I loved the open fire that generated a cosy heat. The staff again were excellent. I great venue.
Stayed here for Knebworth gig and enjoyed a great start to our day with a couple of pints and chats with staff. Even managed to get a lift in off Rob the landlord. Rooms are clean, spacious and everything you'd need for a short stay. Great value for money.
Fabulous pub!! Old and charming. Wonderful staff. Lots of choice on menu. Personally I would like to see a couple more fish dishes. However will certainly be visiting again very soon.
Lovely pub- not a huge amount of choice in menu but the food is good. Huge garden with great play frame for children. Very dog friendly- perfect place to stop by after a nice walk in the near by woods.
