How we have never tried here before I don't know, but what a treat. Everything was amazing from start to finish. Staff very friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Food was possibly the best Italian we've ever eaten and very well priced. Excellent menu choices together with specials. Wine list also well stocked with usual favourites together with some special wines for occasions that require a treat. Will return that is for sure. Can see L'Olivio turning into our regular date night venue and one to bring close friends and family to. Amazing !!!
I just love the food here. Always excellent quality and lovely size portions (linguine nero is to die for). Always some specials as well as the main menu. Great choice of wines. Service always warm, friendly and professional. Love the setting and the atmosphere in there too.
One of the best meals I have had, lovely staff, beautiful ambience, and they had Sangiovese di Romagna on the wine list. Fantastic, we'll be back Sergio and team.
Took my wife for our anniversary, the food was outstanding, Sergio and his staff was very welcoming and attentive to all our needs.
I would like to say thanks to all the staff for making my anniversary dinner a special one.
Went there last night for my birthday meal and as always fantastic food with fantastic service. Highly recommend this restaurant if you want great food and service.

Building was well decorated. Lovely and modern with good use of mirrors to make the room look more spacious.
Service was amazing, the staff were so attentive and friendly!
Food was stunning, my fiancé and I shared the meatball and ravioli starters, he had the lamb main, I had chicken. Then we got lemon tart and tiramisu for dessert. Everything was so good, when we're back in the area we'd definitely eat here again!
The restaurant is lovely and the service was really good.
The food was amazing, looking forward to return again,😊
Booked on Wednesday for a table for two on Thursday. Staff were excellent, starting from the moment we walked in. Offered drinks quickly and the menus. The order was taken promptly, but not rushed (I can be a little indecisive...). The two (delicious) starters arrived quickly and once those had been polished off we were asked if we would like a pause before the next course - we said no to that and so the (delicious) main course arrived quickly after. And then the (delicious) desserts. Have I mentioned it was all delicious?
My wife and I haven't been out for a meal like this in a very long time - definitely not since COVID, but probably much, much longer than that. So this was a bit special for us and I'm so glad we chose L'Olivo. Pretty much a perfect evening.
Tucked away in a charming corner of Wheathampstead, this Italian restaurant is a gem that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. The moment you walk in, you are greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that sets the tone for the rest of the meal.
The menu features a variety of traditional Italian dishes that are crafted with care and attention to detail. From homemade pasta to wood-fired pizzas, everything is bursting with flavor and made with fresh ingredients. The standout dish for me was the garlic bread , it was simply too good!
The service is equally impressive, with friendly and attentive staff who are happy to accommodate any requests or dietary restrictions. They are knowledgeable about the menu and can offer great recommendations for those who are undecided.
The restaurant's location is also worth mentioning, as it is situated in a picturesque area that adds to the overall ambience. This is being a small place, booking in advance is a must.
Whether you're looking to enjoy a romantic dinner for two or a lively meal with friends and family, this Italian restaurant in Wheathampstead has everything you need for a memorable dining experience.
This Italian restaurant was booked last minute on our way home from london. The restaurant was full but they had an outside table. The whole evening was like a private dining experience. We can’t fault anything.
A small intimate Italian restaurant creating a cosy feel with beautiful decor. The staff are very friendly attentive. Due to the size of the restaurant the sound of chattering was fairly loud so I was pleased to be sitting at the far end by the window as I personally would have found it quite loud in the centre.
The food was amazing so much favour and was mouthwatering. I had the Involtini -
Warm Camembert wrapped in Parma ham, sauteed mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, pine nuts to start followed by the Anatra -
Oven baked Gressingham duck breast, with honey and
black pepper, Reserve brandy, sauteed potatoes and to finish the Crème Brûlée. I have to say it's very difficult to choice which course was my favourite everything was delicious.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant it's perfect for special occasions! To avoid disappointment I would advise to book ahead. I look forward to returning in the future.
We have driven passed L'Olivo an number of times, and always commented on the enticing aroma as we passed and that one day we would need to try the food. Why did we wait so long, Absolutely spot on food and service. Very welcoming and very attentive, and the the quality of the food was extremely high, good size portions and great flavors.
Will defiantly not be long before a re-visit.
Such a lovely meal here with my wife. Not only great food, excellently cooked, but backed up by genuinely superb, lovely and caring service. So often places deliver one or the other, but L'Olivo have got all bases covered.
Thanks for making the evening special for us
Brilliant Italian restaurant with amazing home made cooked food. One of the best Italian restaurants that I have tried in the area, where I can get a real taste of Italy. I recommend you to try the courgette side dish, the lasagna and the Camembert. The biscoff cheesecake was very nice too.
The food is simply cooked to perfection. The Prawns, Scallops and Liver simply melt in the mouth. Lovely service etc etc. Its a must go place ... enjoy
