We have eaten Sunday dinner several times over the last 6 months and have to say I rate it as one of the best in the area, if not THE best! We haven't had a bad bite and this includes feeding three generations! Have attached a picture of my pork belly from Sunday, we also ordered the cauliflower cheese side which is just *chefs kiss*. Staff are always attentive and the fab online booking system is super easy to use. We didn't stay overnight so can't comment on the rooms.
We booked initially to break a long distance housing relocation before joining up with our furniture. Unfortunately, whilst we were provided with an excellent breakfast, there was no evening meal available on Tuesday evening which rather took the gloss off the stay!
The rooms were good, showers excellent and the whole pub was dog friendly, and so were the customers.
Had Sunday lunch here. Decent choice on the menu, quality and quantity very good, and served efficiently and politely. Reasonable prices, 2 courses £25, 3 courses £30. Would certainly go back.
Can’t give a rating on the rooms as I haven’t stayed there but myself and our cycle club visit here for a few drinks on a mid week and it has a great location. Prices are on the higher side for drinks but it is a great ambience
Came here for Sunday lunch. Couldn't fault anything. Food was fantastic, great service. No children's menu but smaller portions of what was on main menu, which is great. We will be coming back.
Lovely pub only 7 miles or so from Ponteland. Great selection of drinks, and and the food is very good. They have generous specials on Wednesday thru Friday. Very nice separate dining rooms for those prefering more of a restaurant setting. B&B rooms available too but I've no experience on that front.
Absolutely fabulous hotel everything was fab - the bedroom the food and the water so helpful and friendly. Will look to stay there again in the future and recommend the hotel to my family and friends.
Fitted us in prior to our bike ride for lunch on a busy Saturday. Excellent staff and service, especially the head waiter/maitre'd who is superb at his job.
Stopped off here purely by chance whilst having a nice Sunday drive in the countryside without the kids.
The service was great, very prompt whilst not feeling hounded, everyone was really friendly.
The building was very traditional and suited it surroundings whilst the inside was quite modern in style, very clean and smart.
Now to the food... the words escape me to do it justice, but truly amazing and so tasty and beautifully presented as you can see by the pictures. I had a cheese soufflé to start with, followed by pork belly, with crackling and all the trimmings... I just wish I had room to try the deserts...
We will definitely be coming back again in the future... a wonderful little find.
