Wow what a brilliant breakfast and really fresh cooked not left to be kept warm then dished up. I understand most of the produce is locally sourced and you can tell by the quality. Friendly & helpful staff , judging how busy it is there must be room for expansion as always full & busy when I call in

I forgot to post this review, it's from my visit in July. Tastebuds George Street, Whalley This was my first visit to Tastebuds and as it hadn't come reccomended, I had no idea what to expect. Whalley is quite a nice village, so I did have quite high hopes for a decent Brekkie. When you first enter Tastebuds it looks a bit like a gift shop, with counters containing everything from Children's books to Gourmet Tea Leaves and Coffee Beans. Once past this display though and into the dining area, it is a suprisingly large and spacious cafe. My waitress was very proper and polite and gave off quite a formal vibe - I felt if I dropped a piece of cultlery I'd attract some really disapproving glances. Anyway my breakfast arrived. I'll start with the sausages which were stunningly good and a fair size too. The bacon was good quality and cooked just how I like it. The Black Pudding too was spot on. I'm not the biggest fan of Hash Browns but these were light and crispy and I enjoyed them. There were both halves of a grilled tomato - which makes a change from only one of the halves and a ramekin over flowing with piping hot beans (probably Heinz). The only thing on the plate Id say was average were the mushrooms. That's not a criticism, more so it highlighted the quality of the rest of the meal. I was impressed, good quality products, all cooked and presented well with excellent service. As I ate my breakfast more staff seemed to appear and the atmosphere started to relax somewhat. When I asked my original waitress where the sausages were made, her earlier demeanor changed and we happily chatted about the merits of good quality ingredients. Something, she confirmed, that is very important to them. The sausages were cumberland and from Farnworth's in Whalley. I keep coming across their products and have never yet been disappointed. I would definitley recommend breakfast at Tastebuds, George St, Whalley.

Really friendly and the food is great (the custard slices are amazing). Pro tip: it can be busy, though, so booking a table in advance is a Good Idea.

The afternoon tea/coffee was splendid at £15 per couple and willing to let you take a doggy bag if you struggle to manage it all! Really lovely staff who make the experience extra special! Also take a note of live music and activities on the notice board, i think i will be back to one of the acoustic sets. Enjoy!

This has got to be the best flapjack I every had. Food Good, Service Good, comfort and surrounding good. As the saying goes you get what you pay for, and the quality of the food and coffee justified the cost; although not to unreasonable £10 for what you see in the photo (Scone with Cream, butter and jam, Flapjack, Cappuccino and Coffee

Very nice. Ordered big English breakfast, be aware, it is big! Food quality was very good, sausage was full of flavour, black pudding crispy from outside, nice and jucy inside, not dry or overcooked. Egg yokes were bursting, lush yellow. Butter nice and squishy, ready to go on toast, Bacon nice and slightly crispy. Place was full of happy eaters.

We had a lovely brunch from start to finish. All staff friendly, good atmosphere and setting. We all wanted to make small changes to our meal, which was no problem and our server helped us get the best value for money. We were also able to get a takeaway breakfast and latte for out daughter, who couldn't come as she had tested positive for Covid in the morning. We'll be back. Advisable to book, especially if there's a few of you.

Lovely cafe, absolutely one of the best sausage rolls I've ever had. They use locally sourced meat too. Amazing selection of cakes including gluten free ones. It's bigger than first meets the eye as there is seating round the corner of the establishment. Clean and tidy toilets facilities as well. Nice selection of items and nic naks to buy as well and very reasonable prices. Recommend.

Right from the word go I felt welcomed and actually started to feel I was in safe hands and looked after. The whole atmosphere oozed good quality and service. We weren't disappointed. I had the big all day breakfast a finer selection of fried processed pork products you would be hard pressed to beat. Along with two perfect fried eggs, hash browns and all the trimmings. Really good. Washed down with a delicious brew of fresh filter coffee and a sticky, coffee, creamy, pastry bun type of thing really hit the spot. My Mrs, who has an eye for these sorts of places recommended it and so would I. Go, you won't be upset

Went to this brilliant cafe again! It is situated in the wonderful small town of Whalley which is well worth visiting . I can honestly say that they serve the best cheese and onion pie anywhere..the great plus being that the pastry is so good that I do not get indigestion even though its cheese. The salad that came with it is also really good not just a couple of leaves, its really tasty. I must say I was not a fan of the home made chips and would go for potatoes next time. If there is such a thing as the wrong type of potatoes to use i would say these were what was used. I like my chips crisp on the outside and soft inside. However I would still give 5 stars for outstanding food and service at a very reasonable price and I will be returning.

Found Taste buds purely by chance on a visit to Whalley, it was a brilliant choice. Food was excellent, staff extremely helpful & nothing was to much trouble. Cafe was really busy & it had a great atmosphere, unfortunately we will not be able to enjoy their 50s&60s evening however we will definitely be back again to enjoy everything they have to offer.

The staff are really friendly and helpful. We visit once a month for coffee and a chat We go for a walk then come back for lunch Linda is normally our waitress and she is just so lovely she makes our visit. We have met every 3- 4 weeks recently. The ambience is great the food is good and reasonably priced. They also arrange themed events. Highly recommend a visit Fiona, takes great pride in her customers, staff, and business. We wish her and Julie every success in her awards evening in March. Please vote for Tastebuds.

Food was very good as usual however the service was not great. We has to ask for our order to be taken, the food came but my breakfast was missing the bacon and our drinks didn't arrive until after I had finished my food despite numerous requests to the staff.

Superb café - the homemade cakes are delicious and great coffee too. Deservedly popular, so may have to wait for a table at times.
