Didn't stay in a room, but stopped off for lunch by chance really! Ordered food, decided to sit outside as it was fairly nice... even though it rained, umbrella was up, didn't get wet! Food, seemed like proper home cooked chips in my opinion, served with salad with balsamic vinegar dressing and pro
This pub on this road has to be the one to stop off at , great outdoor seating for walkers, bikers, or just passing by in the great weather. Inside has plenty of space. Food what can I say, came with in a reasonable time. Best of all it tasted and looked great . I'll definitely going back. Staff was
Dropped in as we were passing 6 adults and 2 kids with 1 small dog.. First time we've been and I popped in first to see if we could be accommodated with some food. Firstly I would like to say the chef greeted us in with very friendly open arms and found us the perfect spot to all sit together. The m
Stayed at the camp site next door so the pub was ideal. Had the shady stack burger which wasn't for the faint hearted. Plenty of stuff stacked inside it and ideal after a long day's walking. Prices for the drink were fair considering the location etc... would stop in again if nearby

Went here for a short hiking trip with my Dad. Really friendly staff, and absolutely fantastic food. Highly recommend for a quiet, comfortable stay.
A lovely local pub. Good vegan and vegetarian options. Tasty vegan burger and chips and an excellent buttery jacket potato. Price is good too! It gets busy so worth booking on a bank hol/weekend
Stayed overnight in my campervan, after phoning to check this was OK. Had a fantastic hike in the Goyt Valley and then enjoyed some nicely kept pints of Marstons 61 Deep as a reward. The owners are really friendly and welcoming. Good food and large portions! Will definitely be back!
Amazing location and brilliant staff the food is lovely. Would definitely recommend to everyone
Been in for a drink a number of times but this time I stopped for food as well. The sausage ring with mash, veg and onion gravy was very well done and very tasty. Decent portion without overdoing it. The Timothy Taylor Landlord was drinking nicely too. Good service and friendly staff.
After a 12 mile hike up on the nearby edges this place was a godsend. Great friendly service, good food (steaks were cooked beautifully) and a pleasant atmosphere. I'd go back again.
