Went up after a recommendation from a friend and was well worth the drive. The staff were lovely. The food was fab and the pub in general was a really nice cosy , friendly place. We are both absolutely stuffed now 😊👍
Really enjoyed the chef's homemade vegetarian chilli (GF). Lovely, warm atmosphere (friendly and welcoming and temperature, cosy). Bike racks nearby useful when had popped in earlier for tea (and soy milk). Thank you.
Visited for the first time last night for a family meal (7 of us) and received an incredibly friendly welcome and attentive service throughout our evening. Our meals were excellent in terms of being piping hot and superbly cooked. The menu range was very good and supplemented by a selection of Robinson’s beers (and other brews) which were spot on. We will certainly return when next in the area and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a really friendly pub with great beer and excellent food!
Great food, lovely service and dog friendly
We visited this pub twice on our visit to Whaleybridge recently.
Under new management we found the staff to be very welcoming, the food was excellent with great presentation and our dog enjoyed the treats and cosy fire!
We wish the owners luck in their new venture and look forward to visiting again when we are back up north.
Highly recommend this charming pub.
Lovely, helpful, friendly staff. Great menu, lovely food, great atmosphere and a good choice of ales
Loved it. Fantastic food and super friendly staff.would highly recommend and they welcomed our 2 well behaved beagles too.
mac and cheese could’ve been cooked more as it wasn’t crispy on the top but will defo be back. sunday menu was good no chicken option on the sunday dinner tho. very nice pub
Firstly I will just explain why I took one star off... The beer garden/patio area is lovely, but it's completely covered. The weather (at the moment) is glorious and I would have liked to enjoy my drink and food with some sunshine, so ideally, there could be an uncovered area.
Saying that, the food was lovely, fresh, well presented and served by a very friendly, attentive member of staff. Real ales were spot on too.
Facilities like the bathrooms were really nice and smelled fresh and clean. We walked there, so didn't have to park, but there is a large car park at the side.
Lovely pub, first time visiting and would definitely go back again.
Incredible spot with a cozy vibe, serving up some seriously delicious deli treats. The fish and chips here? Let's just say they redefined our entire 3-month English adventure. You're absolutely missing out if you don't give them a try. And hey, if you're into afternoon tea or classic British bites, they've got you covered. The service is top-notch—attentive and speedy—and the beer selection? Well, let's just say you won't be disappointed.

Had lunch there with 3 friends. The cheese and onion pie I had was very tasty. It was served with mash and a good portion of mushy peas and gravy. My friends all had burgers and one had soup as well. All tasty. Total cost £55.
