Came here for the lunch tasting menu deal, food was delicious and the service was great, attentive but left us alone and found the perfect balance. Restaurant was quiet when we arrived with us being the only diners but it did fill out while we ate which improved the atmosphere. Tasting menu was well put together and well priced with good timing between courses and communication from the wait staff as to what was next and any questions we may have
Was a very lovely treat to dine here. We had the 6 course which was lovely and perfect amount of food. The course was £70pp and we added the wine pairing £30pp (which consisted of a white, a rose and a port with the pudding). Would definitely recommend. 👌🏼
We came here for the lunch deal and it was a great experience. Staff were very polite and friendly, service was excellent, they didn’t miss a beat. There were main 4 portions with bread served at the start, all the food was delicious and really well presented. I’d say the portions were maybe a little smaller than I expected but I didn’t leave hungry.
Absolutely fabulous food and wine at this amazing Michelin restaurant. I’ll explain each dish photographed below but th epics may have been taken soon after the delicious food arrived.
Pic 1 - Sourbread and salted butter - amazing, light, crusty and pretty perfect.
Pic 2 - My favourite dish of the day and not one I would have ordered from an a la carte menu - Portland Crab Dumpling with sesame, pickled ginger and crab broth, the crab broth is to die for!!
Pic 3 - Roasted Scallop with truffle and westcombe cheddar sauce and grated hazel nuts on the top - an awesome combo.
Pic 4 - Plaice with pea purée, garlic purée and some other really tasty stuff, this one was filling!!!!
Pic 5 - Praline Mousse, hazelnut cake with sourdough ice cream, OMG!
Pic 6 - We decided to go for the cheese board too, local cheddar, local Camembert, English blue cheese with Apple & Pear chutney, pickled celery with aniseed and a massive chunk of Quince which tasted so good with the cheddar!!
With each of these course we had local English bubbly, local English rose, local English white and some spectacular Ruby Port with the cheeses.
I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant!!
A splendid place for a date night for lovers of true fine dining. Thoughtfully prepared and presented delicious food served by friendly, courteous and knowledgeable staff. Our third visit and we feel very lucky to have this Michelin standard restaurant walking distance from home. Bravo!
I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and it went beyond my expectations. The service and food was spectacular. Walking into the restaurant, we were greeted by the host who showed us to our table in the intimate dining room. Straight away, our waiter greeted us and brought over drinks and warm sourdough bread with lobster butter. We had the 8 course tasting menu with wine pairing, something which I couldn’t recommend more. Each course was better than the last. Both presentation and taste were fantastic. I couldn’t recommend the catch more highly.
We have eaten in some of the 'top' restaurants in the UK and this was, without doubt, one of the best meals/experiences we have had. We had the mid week tasting menu with wine parings and it was impossible to choose our favourite dish. Mike (the chef) has a talent for bringing out the essence of a flavour and enhancing it. David (the manager) is adorable and has so much knowledge which he readily shared. From the moment we were greated at the door and indulged in chat about their 'pet' fish we were treated with warmth and professional friendliness, we felt like honoured guests. We rarely recommend a restaurant because we all like different things and have different expectations, however, we have no hesitation recommending this relatively new and fresh restaurant.
Thank you to all at Catch for a wonderful evening.
Our second visit (although we have sent six other members of the family through since our initial visit, all gave it 5*), food was as good as last time, that’s excellent in case you are wondering.
Service was discreet but excellent, It’s late September so it’s quieter, so served by fewer staff so more opportunity for a closer rapport as not being served by as many different people, probably too quiet for diners and staff overall, but that is just how it happens sometimes.
Because it was quiet the head chef had more time to chat (sat at table closest to kitchen) which pleased my wife as she’s a super keen cook and always interested in how the kitchen operates as much as the food it delivers.
The catch will I am sure will be a regular feature of our calendar in Weymouth, we just need to strike the balance of familiarity and keeping it as a treat to savour.
Absolutely outstanding. My partner and I were genuinely blown away with the food, attention to detail and the service. It could have not been any better. We loved everything about the menu, everything was created with intricate detail & care and it all tasted remarkable. Top marks to your lovely team and hats off to the chefs.
Superb, again. We travelled back to Weymouth for a few days out of London and the only reason we chose Weymouth was, Catch. Absolutely stunning menu this season. Mike Naidoo and the team are masters in the kitchen, the food was incredible and the service is impeccable. We've named Catch our favourite restaurant in the country and we litterally cannot wait to visit again. Thanks so much for the incredible food and service. Hats off to you all 👏
