Wowza - they need bigger plates. The large haddock just doesn't fit! Was a little skeptical as this appears to be the only fish and chip shop on the south side of the harbour and we managed to get a table for dinner straight away. And you are able to jump the take away queue to order and that wasn't very long either. So, haddock to say that I cod not be more wrong. We had a large haddock and scampi with chips and salad. While it is not the cheapest in Weymouth, it is by far the best fish and chips I have a had in a while. Huge portions on tiny plates, light crispy batter. Freshly cooked witn the chips and generous portion of curry sauce. Left you wanting for nothing except a long walk along the beach for the evening. Deservedly on the top 10 chippy is the UK.

I love this place. I had the best shrimps 🍤 since I came to UK. It is special plate in the menu, called coconut shrimps with chilli sauce. Yummy 😍😍 The fish smells good and tastes fresh. I guess that's because of sea fresh seafood. The restaurant is quite nice inside, but my advice is to grab you food and go to the docks in the harbour and enjoy your meal. Be careful with seagulls 😂

Great little place, my first time down in Weymouth & some locals recommended and god where they correct to recommend. I ordered the mackerel bap & omg what an incredible thing to eat I would have never thought about that but coming from the food industry that definitely deserves the title world famous mackerel bap. Also chips were incredible nice and crisp not soggy. So sad that where I live in West Sussex the chips just aren’t done that well, might just have to drive here for this or relocate for work.

I was out doing walkies with my friends and a great way to end the day is to have some fish and chips by the harbour. Bennetts did not disappoint. It was a busy fish and chip shop. We passed by it 3x and the lines were crazy long. Around 7pm we decided to line up. The queue was moving at a good pace. Outside, I got a good whiff of deep fried goodness which got me all ravenous. Inside, it had booth seats and standard seats and all of them were occupied. On the left hand side was their display of fried goodies. Menu top left hand corner and I got so excited to order. I had a large haddock ( as a first timer i wanted to go with the classic) some chips and had some of their special squid rings. Light and crispy batter, very moist fish. Im hungry typing this and thinking about it. 😑 I had it with tartare sauce. Also added a curry sauce on the side. The squid was very tender, i thought it would be tough but it wasnt. It was served with sweet chili dip and it was lovely. In less than 10minutes we had our order and we sat by the harbour. They sell small packets of sauce and they have salt and vinegar bottles you could use. BEWARE of the seagulls. They like to swoop down and steal some of your food. They come in groups and they try to make you look the other way and take away some of the happiness. They accept card payments. They do walkins. They have deliveroo 😊

Visited today at lunchtime. I was not disappointed with the food ordered 3 times cod and chips. The taste was out of this world, not cheap but not expensive. If you are in Weymouth and hungry, you have to visit

A good friend of ours recommended coming here if we wanted Fish and Chips. They were so right, one of the best I have had. I just had Cod and Chips, and the fish was bigger than the plate. We sat down and ate as it was a bit windy and cold outside. Highly recommended. I felt well and truly full when we left and needed a good walk around Weymouth.

Fish and chips are good, very tasty and fresh. Served with tartar sauce in scollop shells and a slice of lemon in the restaurant. We went to the restaurant part which was a lot more expensive but you still go up to the counter to place your order and it is quite packed in there. Managed to fold up our two Buggies and place them under our feet of the fixed table and chairs. Useful for times of bad weather but otherwise I would take out. Toilet has a baby change on the wall.

Now, I like a good chippy tea, but this was next level! Possibly the best fish and chip supper i’ve had ( and i’ve had alot ) portions were huge and i didn’t even ‘go large’. Fantastic!
