The staff were just fabulous!!! Especially Loz - she smiled, and helped and made us feel so welcome that we went back the next night ( we never do that - but it was so worth it). Food was scrummy - especially something so simple as a jacket potato which was the best I’ve ever had. More than recommended!!
It was a very busy hot Sunday lunchtime. We were greated at the door given a table and menus straight away. Great staff and wonderful food and service. Although busy and everybody was told there would be a waiting time it was well worth the wait. We will definitely be going back.
absolutely amazing place food was so yummy and the staff very nice and helpful . deffo 100% recommend.
Superb food cooked to perfection! We had the mixed grill 👌🏼 Had the warm chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce & salted caramel ice cream for dessert 😍 would definitely recommend

I totally recommend the white chocolate and strawberry tart.... omg!!..... it’s to die for!

Lovely place, great staff and delicious food. But be aware of the seagulls ;-)

We were starving yesterday evening (Sunday) after having just moved to Weymouth. The best Sunday Roast I had for a long time.
Very friendly staff and wonderful food!
Definetly take all friends there!
Great meal here on Mother's Day. Fab staff, chef and food. Thank you all so much.
Staff friendly, service was excellent and the food was perfect we had the chicken burger with the hot sauce and cheese. Delicious. Then was able to sit outside as such a gorgeous day. Thank you.
was pleasantly surprised to discover food here, the presentation, flavour and cost were great and the service was friendly and fast. Been living here for ages and only just discovered it. Will definitely be going again
Lovely family run pub by the Quay. Great atmosphere inside, love the gallery sitting upstairs, nice view over looking the water if you sit by the window.
New York Deli Style was delicious and generous portion. Tried the cold river cider as well which was very refreshing.
Saw other people having a roast dinner which looked fantastic, the Yorkshire puddings looked huge.
Service was very quick and staff were very attentive.
Would definitely visit again.
Stopped for an unprompted lunch as we walked around Weymouth. Food was superb and got to recommend the fish cakes, tacos and Chef Burger. Great views of the harbour from the outside seating. Highly recommend if your in the area
We were in Weymouth on a cruise stop. We wanted to try a local pub for a pint and fish n chips. The service was excellent and friendly. The food was excellent. We tried the fish n chips and they had mussels on special that were some of the best I've ever had. I can't wait to visit again.
There wasn't a lot of choice for real ales on my visit, and I didn't eat except for a packet of nuts. However, the pilsner was exceptionally good 👍
Good music on the sound system and the bar staff are pleasant and sociable.
Outside the bar was very busy with a great atmosphere and a nice view of the estuary.
I look forward to popping back in the summer, trying the food, and editing this review.
Definitely one to go to.
This pub is in a lovely location, near to the estuary, one of the nicest parts of Weymouth. We caught it at sunset, and the whole area looks beautiful, ideal for a post or pre dinner stroll. The George had some nice pub fayre, a cut above the usual pub grub. My Mexican burger was tasty and spicy with plenty of jalapeños, just the way I like it. Perhaps the bun could have been a little more moist. The coleslaw wasn’t anything to write home about, to be perfectly honest. There was a nice portion of fries. I was actually full up before I could finish. My brother had linguini which he absolutely loved. We also had a mackerel pâté which, again, got mass approval from all those who tried it. The service in The George was excellent, friendly and welcoming. The place also looks great, with a bit of character yet unfussy. A very pleasant place to have a meal and a drink.
Nice room, a little on the dark side. Nice for romantic meal. Popped in for a Guinness which was ok . Staff were friendly. Nice visit.
Really popular place. Nothing was too much trouble. Found a table for 6 straight away. Kids meals cane out first. Food was delicious. Spot on, thank you.
Brilliant meal last night. Good portion sizes for adults and kids.
Nice to see specials on the menu
Very friendly staff, great atmosphere, good bar selection, not overpriced and exceptional food.
We'd definitely call again if passing.
Lovely ambience, great food , friendly staff. A great place to sit and watch the world go by and take in the picturesque view
We looked all over Weymouth for the best place for drinks aling with fish & chips... We found it at The George and got a lovely setting on the canal added. They have indoor and outdoor tables, weather permitting. The piece of fish waa perfectly cooked and larger than the plate it was served on. Great cider and beer on tap. Super nice helpful waitresses. Score!
Friendly service that felt genuine. Good quality food, except for slightly disappointing jacket potato. Good portion sizes. Great view of Harbour. As a solo customer, I felt really comfortable.
Absolutely wonderful afternoon treat with my mini pirate. Tiger served us & she couldn’t have done more to make our experience really lovely. My little 4 year old felt very special & really loved how attentive Tiger was. The other staff all seemed friendly too. The team had a very busy Sunday all under control & nothing seemed to much. We had fried & Brie bites. Both great & the atmosphere was spot on. We’ll be back, thanks again :)
This place is fantastic, lovely food, staff were welcoming, friendly & efficient. Lovely venue overlooking the old harbour. We were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day in Weymouth, so we were able to sit outside & just soak up the atmosphere, while eating from a good sized menu & drinking chilled beverages. Dogs were allowed outside & kept well watered.
I will definitely be looking to visit this establishment again soon.
Beautiful pub on the harbour front with a decent amount of seating outside.
Only stopped for a drink and a rest stop, but it was good enough for us to come back the next time we were in the area.
Decent selection of drinks available, and service was quick too. The price was about normal for a pub drink.
Well it’s all started very well till we tried to order dessert
After meal we were waiting for someone to come with the menu so that took about 20 mins then another half an hour we were waiting for anyone come to take our order until we gave up and asked for a bill
The lady who I guess was the manager was very disappointed but unfortunately we would be sitting there for ever probably
Took dinner orders didn’t take that long but wait so long for dessert?
Sorry but big disappointment
I had the crispy crab cakes and they were so delicious with the lime mayo. The steak sandwich, was good too but heavy on the caramelizes onion personally. And fries of course great. The service was fast and friendly, I thought the decor is a bit out dated but it feels like such a nice summer vibe, it was very busy.
Stopped of after a cruise and was hungry. Out of all the places Weymouth had to offer, I am so happy we stopped here. Staff were so polite and friendly, the burger was top notch, up there with one of the best I've had and if your a Guinness fan, my partner calls himself the connoisseur and he was very impressed with it. Decor fab and atmosphere, we will be back.
Reasonably priced too.
Nice bar / restaurant, food good, Great staff and atmosphere. Recommended.
