Excellent meal, a party of eight, great oysters, tried all three different types, we particularly liked the oysters with bacon and cream. For mains, three people had the crab and five had fish, no complaints, only compliments sent to the chef.
Perfect location, perfect food and service. My friends (who love Oysters) say the Italiano ones were the best they ever tasted. The staff are friendly and fun. We had the best lunch ever and will come back whenever we can!! Thanks
Top quality seafood, it is easy to see why Rick Stein, The Daily Telegraph, Michelin and many other publications recommend The Crab House.

The menu has no veggie or non seafood dishes so it maybe worth calling if your needs aren't catered for.
Amazing food! The lemon sole stuffed with crab is out of this world! Friendly staff and an array of sun hats or umbrellas if you want to eat alfresco.
Amazing place, would highly recommend. Friendly and efficient staff, incredible food and lovely atmosphere.
Crazy delicious seafood, extremly friendly staff and a delightful decor! A fun and authentic dinning experience that will last a lifetime! A must place to visit!
We had a great evening, scallops and mussels were very tasty. The crab for the main course was delicious.
The staff were all extremely friendly and efficient . Will definitely recommend this restaurant.
Had the absolute pleasure of having a meal at the crab house in Weymouth, I must say the service was excellent, location amazing and the food was delicious! Will most definitely visit again!
Have been eating here for a while now. Fantastic fresh local seafood, lovely setting and really good attentive staff. What more could you ask for?
Took my lovely wife here for Valentines last night and WOW! what a brilliant meal. Well worth the cost.
If you get the chance go to one of the wine nights that they have twice a year, you won't be dissappointed.

What an awesome find! Loved everything about you guys. Great team and service, great setting - rustic and endearing, food to die for. Those Italian oysters... Loved loved loved. Thank you sooooo much for taking extra special care of us all. We will be back.
Crab House Cafe is a real treat for seafoodies. I've been three times and have had a brilliant experience at each. The interior is rustic but charming and beachy with tables placed closely together. For me, its unassuming appearance adds to its appeal and on a warm day one can sit outside and enjoy the views over their oyster farm. There are also hats for sale outside which is somewhat random but hey, I love hats so not complaining.
There's a great deal of care and passion that goes into the food with Nigel Bloxham, the seemingly unostentatious owner quietly but solidly overseeing everything that leaves the kitchen. There's something I like about the quiet confidence of allowing patrons to see what is often hidden behind doors in other restaurants.
Whilst I have tried many things on the menu, don't go without at least trying the crab. Bashing and smashing and picking into the crab shell is as fun as it is rewarding when you taste the incredible meat. It really is something else. Make sure you do use the bag provided for this exercise though or else you might take an eye out.
It's not the cheapest seafood restaurant in the area, neither should it be. It's a little gem and as a pretty well-travelled South African-based food lover, it's well worth a visit.
What a fantastic little seafood restaurant. Amazing selection of crab, oysters and varieties of fish. Food was cooked to perfection and plenty of it too. Staff were very polite and friendly with nothing too much trouble. We had the country style oysters, crab remoulade, shellfish bisque, the world's biggest whole spicy Chinese crab haha and finally a John Dory fillet. Fantastic place, highly recommended.
We visited the Crab House Cafe for a family dinner in early July. This really is an excellent seafood restaurant. Service certainly came with a smile and the quality of the food was superb. The food was very fresh indeed and we could watch it being cooked. I had the oysters, seafood bhaji's and the lobster all of which were fabulous. They catered for a six-year old very well and we all thought the whole experience was excellent. Two further things to note are that the homemade bread is lovely and parking just outside the front door is very easy.
Came here for lunch - got the crab to crack and some other items off the usual menu. The atmosphere was really nice and the staff super attentive and sweet. Food was delicious and the novelty of the crab to crack was great! Highly recommend
We were visiting from Australia, so have high expectations when it comes to seafood. It is always a joy to outside, overlooking the oyster beds while exploring local delicacies on the table. The sustainability and seasonal approach to presenting simple, local food to a high standard was just one highlight. The fish crackling was an outstanding bar snack, and I will never get over using a hammer to split the crabs apart. It would have been nice to know you're supposed to out the crabs in the provided plastic bag BEFORE you smash them.
The on house gins were different and both delicious. Having an opportunity to taste both straight up and with a side of tonic to self administer is always appreciated.
For a birthday lunch for my 92 year old aunt which included children, this was an experience we will always remember. Thank you for making it so special by just doing what you do.
Came here for lunch and sat outside in the covered area. The staff were really friendly and the food was delicious. I ordered a half crab which was delicious, although I wouldn’t order it again as it was very fiddling to dissect it and eat..the novelty wears off a bit once you realise how long it takes. Overall a really nice restaurant, but in my opinion quite overpriced for what you get.
A true birthday treat. Taste the flavours of the sea through careful consideration of the ingredients used. Can't remember last time we had such a memorable meal, beautiful. Bought the book too, very happy as was signed by tge Chef.
When you see the staff so happy and joyful in their work you know that the food will reflect their love for the job. Can hand on heart say we had the best meal here, absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection, worth every penny. To think I'm not so keen on fish dishes, I would eat here at every opportunity. Then again, don't start me on the cheese board..local cheese which was just mega. Sure you could spend £40 a head quite easy, but food like this who cares take my money :)
You need to make a reservation to avoid disappointment. I rarely give perfect. Something typically always niggles me. But had lunch with old friends that we hadn’t seen for 20+ years. The food is outstandingly fresh and simply plated. The service staff so kind, friendly and welcoming and as the four us chatted the lunch away with a couple of bottles of excellent wine, they never nagged us to move.
Lovely seafood Restaurant right on the seafront. Friendly enthusiastic staff and the food is delicious and fresh.
Amazing food so fresh and tasty, staff very friendly and so helpful we will definitely be making another visit when we are back down to Dorset can't wait.
