The food was amazing I had the homemade chicken Kiev with chips and my wife had the pie of the day (chicken,mushroom &bacon) with mash and gravy. Very tasty and reasonably priced! The staff were very welcoming and friendly and a really nice friendly atmosphere. They even had an open fire, dogs welcome. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
Amazing pub lunch whilst staying close by. We were cheeky and even asked for some flour to make our pizzas that night and they kindly gave us a tub of flour! The food was so nice and service was second to none
arrived to be greated by friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, great to hang out having drink and socially with friends, the Sunday roast chicken, great amount portion and then especially the sticky toffee and apple, rhubarb and raisan crumble with custard and all homemade. definitely coming again
Absolutely excellent, had carrot and corriander soup, followed by lovely haddock and chips. We (18) of us went for a 100th birthday. Would definitely go there again.

We were just driving past and decided to pop in to see if they had availability for Sunday lunch, which luckily for us they did.
We hadn’t read any reviews before we went so we’re trying blind but so glad we found this little gem.
The homemade rosemary and sea salt bread was a nice touch and very good. The starter of home made black pudding was absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend.
The roast beef was outstanding, perfectly cooked and all the sides were fab. I’d definitely suggest ordering some of the cauliflower cheese on the side as well.
We just had the one dessert of sticky toffee pudding and again this was excellent, even the ice cream with it was great.
It’s very clear the food served is of the highest quality and all fresh. It’s not the cheapest Sunday lunch but is one of the best ones we have had.
We would definitely recommend and will be back.

Excellent food! Reasonable prices. Super friendly staff. Washrooms exceed typical UK standards. Loads of seating inside or enjoy afternoon sunshine in the front. Parking available on their lot out back or on the street. Highly recommend :)
First time here, the staff were brilliant, especially the lady behind the bar and serving food/ taking orders. She was lovely, didn’t get her name but she’s a brilliant worker, fantastic personality, a real character. Highly recommend the Bay Horse, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. We’ll be back.
Lovely country pub. Burger was epic so was the sausage & mash 🙂 very reasonable prices considering the quality. Good service too.
They also seem to have various events on, coronation party etc.
The only downside is the small rear car park. We had to park on the road out front.

This is customer service! Great pub in a stunning area and has a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff.we all had a certain request for how and exactly what we wanted from our food e.g one plain, one with no cheese and relish etc and there were no complaints about it, and chef did it perfectly! Will definately be back when in area again.would recommend this place

Called up for a last minute table booking mid week and though it sounded like they were busy, they were very accommodating to find a way to squeeze us in. The service on arrival was even more friendly. Very tasty dinners and appreciated that there is dog friendly seating. We shared meals between ourselves as a family, but I was assured that kid sized portions of their mains could be provided.
What a little gem! Firstly the atmosphere was lovely, such a charming and welcoming place.
The food isn't chepa but you get what you pay for!
I don't really like pies but I tried my Mom's steak and ale and it we both agreed it was the best we'd ever tried. All home made on the property and you can tell. The meat was so tender and plentiful and the gravy so tasty.
I had the special 28 day aged steak. It was cooked to perfection and tasted beautiful, cooked rare and melt in the mouth.
My dessert was a miss as the brownie was supposed to be hot but was roasting on the edges and cold in the middle (microwaved?) and the home made custard (which was beautiful) was only luke warm.
Other than that this was one of the nicest pub meals I've had. Would highly recommend this place and the 5* review is well deserved.
Fantastic pub with a great atmosphere and amazing food that is all freshly made on site even down to the burger buns. Friendly and attentive staff throughout. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Met up with the family for a spot of lunch. We had been here many years ago; and it looked very much as we remembered.

1 x Bangers and mash. Very nice, but small portion. Could have done with some mire veg.
Friendly staff who were quite attentive.
Went on Sunday for lunch which was fantastic it’s a Brilliant Sunday lunch which you will receive, Yorkshire puddings excellent great selection of vegetables, and the beef ( which I had nice and pink ) we were a table of 6 with two little ones , the child’s roast chicken Sunday dinner was massive . Service very good and all staff were helpful throughout our duration, Very busy place which I’m not surprised due to the quality of food & service
Definitely worth a visit but I’d say book ti make sure you get a table x
