This place is not the Savoy, but what The Royal Oak is, is incredible value for money, run and staffed by genuine, lovely people and very friendly clientele. You don't get a chocolate on your pillow or big fluffy white towels but you are left wanting for nothing else (you are provided with towels, obviously). Great beer in the bar, clean and well equipped rooms and even plates and cutlery should you wish to bring a takeaway back to your room. Great chippy next door (more lovely people), a tasty Indian restaurant just a short walk away. Brilliant location for visiting York or Leeds, although Wetherby also has a lot to offer. I've stayed here a few times on business and will continue, let's support these small independents who do appreciate the custom. Did I say they do Great beer?

The room we stayed in for 1 night (room 3) was so reasonably priced and we were both surprised at what we got for our money. It was clean, tidy and had comfortable beds. We had plenty of tea and coffee in the room , and soap, shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom. I can't fault anything. It didn't do food, but lots of cafes nearby. I will be coming back again when I next need to stay in Wetherby. Thank you Royal Oak. !

A rare find in a great location. Still a family run pub with friendly staff and regulars. I felt welcome instantly. Also with a great selection of beers and my favourite is how pet friendly it is πŸ•πŸ•πŸ€£πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ See you again soon

We left some valuable items and when calling 2 days later they had secured them anticipating our call. We appreciate their honest and very hospitable staff. Nice pub with friendly locals.

A rare proper, down to earth pub. There is always someone friendly to talk to. The best beer garden in Wetherby with its own resident chickens. A favourite for dog walkers as they are all welcome.

Stayed here for one night while visiting my brother in York. Nice modern room at the back of the pub. Great breakfast. Staff very friendly. They weren't serving dinners when I was there, but easy to walk into town to find something (followed by after-dinner stroll to see the Tardis outside the police station :) It was perfect for what I wanted.

Wheelchair access is not easy but can be done. There's a number on the back gate to ring if you have problems opening the beer garden gate but I haven't tried it we managed to get in with one for held open. Beers are good will kept and three decent ales on offer. Staff are friendly a local pub where you are made welcome.

Just what you want from a boozer, what gives it five stars, is the the friendliness of the staff, to the point of ordering a taxi for out of towners. Good job.
