A "must go" place for a wonderful dinner! The best prepared steak I have ever had while in Europe and highly recommend the desserts...a rare find!!
Had a lovely lunch here...the bread you get before your meal was beautiful....we all chose the chicken pie ...probably the best pie in the world ....beautiful...certainly the best pie I have tasted...the staff are lovely and very welcoming...we have been numerous times and never disappointed ...x
We ate there last night after looking for somewhere on TripAdvisor as we are not local. We were welcomed by a very friendly guy after walking through the door, shown to our seats. I had mussels as a starter which were delicious and what a huge portion! I had the pork shoulder for my main which was so lovely. My friend had breaded Brie as a starter and vegetable lasagne for main and she was delighted with both. The staff were super friendly and very welcoming, the food delicious & a real country pub.
Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch for my birthday today. The crackling was fantastic with the roast pork and the sticky toffee pudding gorgeous and a must! Many thanks to all the staff & especially Gareth who looked after us. What a fabulous buzzing pub, a first visit for us and definitely not the last, we'll be back soon.

Had a wonderful Sunday lunch here yesterday with my daughter. My crackling was really crackling, crunchy and delish, Yorkshire Puds to die for and the toffee sauce on my sticky toffee pudding was yummy and plentiful. Staff were attentive,pleasant and helpful and we will definitely be returning, thanks guys xx

Took two teenagers for an early evening burger. The gent who welcomed us was unbelievably attentive and professional. The food was excellent and considering the competition locally for "specialist burgers" is such, I didn't expect what I got. Everything was excellent. No brioche here but a good hearty sour dough bun, and what a mammoth burger it was. They even ask how you prefer it cooking.

Excellent Food
Despite being a busy weekend we had a really excellent meal with a very nice range of choices on the menu. Wine was also very good and nice value for money too. The only downside was the slowness of the service / kitchen but yes, it is a pub and it was busy ( a consequence of its own success of course!). Hope to come again soon.
We have been coming here for a few years now and every time it is perfection! We love coming here and wish we lived closer - we'd be here every Sunday!

We had black pudding, scallops for starter, roast chicken and roast beef dinners and we both had the apple & rhubarb crumble & custard. It was all so delicious and perfectly presented. Looking forward to coming back soon!
Really great place, we were immediately welcomed by lovely staff and were quickly served drinks, they also served the most lovely bread to start and our food quickly followed, the presentation was amazing and the food was extremely delicious same with the dessert. Also couldn't be happier with the covid safety measures with glass screens between tables and staff wearing visors. Would definitely recommend.
Had a delicious meal of fish and chips at the Fox & Hounds. The fish was so fresh, and it came with homemade tartar sauce, chips and mushy peas. The chips were perfectly cooked and slightly crunchy, might have had a light batter to give them the edge to standard pub chips!
Booked a table for my family to celebrate a birthday. We were allowed to take our own cake although we did have deserts! Staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. Sticky toffee pudding is amazing with chunks of cinder toffee! We'll certainly be back and thoroughly recommend.

Went for Sunday lunch on what happened to be a quiet day due to a certain world cup match. Regardless of this the food was impeccable and great value for money, we also appreciated that we didn't feel awkward even though we were one of the only tables. Staff were all lovely and the interior was really nice too!
First time eating here last Sunday. Very pleasant pub surroundings and atmosphere and friendly and efficient staff. I had pie of the day (lamb) and my wife the roast chicken and thai fishcake to start. Got to say that all the food was delicious and well cooked. Only criticism would be that I would have expected a couple of fishcakes in the starter rather than just one, but otherwise found it to be a great place to go for a bite to eat. Will definitely eat here again.
Lovely place - 4 of us ate here on Saturday 6th November and we were not disappointed. It's a lovely clean pub, nicely laid out tables and the staff are so warm and welcoming. There was a good choice on the menu and the food was utterly delicious. We had mains and desserts and everything was absolutely perfect and could not be faulted (even though one of our party usually manages to find fault with everything:)) We didn't have starters but we saw some being delivered to another table and they looked equally delicious - great service, great place, great food and reasonable prices plus as a bonus they are dog friendly. This is a real hidden gem and we will be back.
We haven't been out for a meal for a while and I must say we really enjoyed our meals. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. We will definitely return.
Only had one visit here, and for a few quid more than a chain pub burger your getting quality 10x more.
Its a lovely little pub/restaurant in a stunning village. I look forward to visiting in the summer time where they have outside seating available.
