The best steak Jack has had in a long while and my fish dish was excellent too. All that is good about a yorkshire pub you will find here- Delicious food,steak cooked to perfection, friendly staff and warm,cozy atmosphere. Great choice of drinks too .Happy to recommend to all as long as we can get a table
Last minute New Years Eve booking and wow what a place. T bone amazing, fillet steak sublime, and what can we say about the staff. Excellent, professional, accommodated. Glad we found this pub as we will definitely be coming back.
I'd like to be taken to a table either before or after placing my drink order. The lady behind the bar kept us at the bar and gave us the glasses to carry before she showed us the table. The place was not full and there was not much room between the bar and the front door. A friendly waitress had to squeeze past us.
The food was excellent, served in ample portions.
Visited yesterday for Sunday lunch , lovely little pub . The service was excellent and the food outstanding ! The best sticky toffee pudding I have ever had and for the service and quality of food the prices are very reasonable . I will definitely be returning . Thank you
Top steak last night. Won't take much feeding today... Can also recommend the lemon posset. Thanks team - a great meal.

Very friendly pub with a great ambience. My husband and I have been here a couple of times now and can't fault anything. Lovely food, good choice of drinks. I can recommend the rhubarb gin. I had the crab starter and lobster main both on the specials board and they were both delicious. Looking forward to going back.

We came across this beautiful pub on a road trip to York. It was the best steak I've ever eaten and we'll be back to find a bed and breakfast and sample the wares of this haven again x

Wow this is a real find. Busy so make sure you book. Superb food and great choice. Loved it. It was over £200 for 6 with drinks and most had 3 courses.
Stopped on the off chance they do food after a day out. Lucky for us, they were!Beautiful setting. Roaring fire, which was very welcome. Great value food, which was delicious. Two ciabattas with home made chips and chutney for less than £20-amazing. Lovely, friendly staff and atmosphere. Highly recommend. Gorgeous country pub less than 10 minutes off the A64.
Went for lunch on a Saturday on the spur of the moment. We were accommodated without a problem but would strongly recommend booking in advance. Food was excellent as always, this place has a great reputation which is highly deserved.
Fantastic meal absolutely delicious toast dinner. Crispy Yorkshire pudding as I would hope. Excellent service and friendly staff.
First time I've tried froburshires soft drinks and they were very refreshing.
Would have liked to see apple pie on the menu as there were too many diff flavours on the desert but was still well done.
Just been for a meal this evening and could not fault a thing exceptional food and service can't wait to visit again
