Great food, especially the cakes! The staff and owners are really friendly and can't do enough for you. To top it all off it's dog and baby friendly.

Went in yesterday for tea and cake, must say my husband is a celiac and the gluten free courgette and avocado cake was up there with the best he has ever tasted, would love to know who baked it as I often get a cake baked for his birthday.

Hidden away on the Uphill path within the Boatyard. Fabulous cafe with friendly efficient staff, great choice of cakes and food dishes, sausage sandwiches to bacon and egg or full breakfast. Cappuccino tasted amazing with chocolate topping, the interior was special, the cafe built almost within the Uphill quarry rock face. Reminds you of the history but with the new future. The cafe is a godsend in a perfect location if you walk to Brean Down or come off the beach uphill end. Surprised there was no wifi but in this modern day and age of constantly looking at our mobile phones it made a change.

What a great little cafe! Such a treat to find plain scones instead of fruit ones! Obviously went for the cream tea, although all cakes looked delicious. Lovely friendly staff. We thoroughly enjoyed a couple of visits here while on holiday in uphill.

Just had lunch - super menu, generous portions, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I had the goat cheese salad , others had crispy chicken ciabata, panini with brie, bacon and cranberry, and posh hot dog. Then excellent coffee and scrummy cakes. Might have been nice if table had been cleared sooner and there was a second toilet. Very pleasant atmosphere even in the rain. Excellent value too.

I have passed the Boathouse Bar and Bistro at the Uphill boatyard many times, but most of the time I have, it has been in the evening, and it has been closed. It usually closes at 4pm and 5pm at weekends. So on a recent stroll around Uphill I decided I would stop for a coffee and try the Boathouse out. It was quite busy and bustling when I arrived late morning, there was no queue though. I ordered my flat white and then took a seat at a table. They do, what I always prefer, to bring my coffee over to me, rather than wait at the counter until it is made. The Boathouse is in a building which use to be a yacht chandlers, there are still signs of that in the place. It wasn’t long before my coffee arrived, it was a well made flat white and tasted great. I spent time drinking my coffee and working on my phone. There is no wifi, and to be honest not much of a phone signal either. I think next time I will take a notebook and a pen and work in that way. Overall a really nice coffee, good service and a pleasant environment.

Had an amazing lunch/brunch. Food was delicious and the milkshakes were very tasty and refreshing on a hot day. Really dog friendly and even sell natural dog treats, dog ice cream and puppachinos! Our dog loved it and if we were back in the area we'd definitely go back.

I came in basically to use the toilet facilities, ended up stopping to eat lunch, ordered the Posh Dog and was clearly visibly stunned by the size of it, much to the amusement of the lady who brought it to my table, who then later was delighted I’d conquered it. Also chatted briefly to the young lady at the counter who had demolished the big plate of food she had ordered, it’s a great sign when the staff are happy to eat what they also sell. In her words, she “ inhales it, I don’t eat breakfast, have this around lunchtime, don’t need to eat again until much later” Seriously, eat here

Excellant food all reasonably priced. Clean and tidy establishment. Dog friendly so is ideal for those walking the Brean Down Way with their pets. Can get very busy at weekends .Well worth a visit. Please note there is limited parking in Uphill itself but dont let that put you off going.

I've been in the cafe before, a long time ago but this visit was special. One of my puppys first walks and lunch with my daughter, I will definitely make this a regular visit, the food was lovely, well presented, came to us quickly, the staff were smart, friendly and just a great place to go. Not many dog friendly places of this quality. Well done, one happy customer and puppy home now munching on his treat. Thank you.
