The ship has been up and down for years but the current owners are doing a fantastic job, food is excellent and it's kept very clean. Well worth a visit if you find yourself in uphill.

My Mum's ashes are scattered near here, so once a year or more this is where we enjoy a meal/family treat, and it never fails to impress. I love the Ship Inn for its welcoming atmosphere (kids and dogs friendly, luckily for me and my anarcharchic lot), which is hard to come by when me a my noisy rabble attempt public civilisation 😬. Service was very friendly and attentive; nothing was too much trouble, even when I discovered a flooding bathroom. Assuming it was one of mine who hadn't realised the taps weren't automatic, I summoned help to sort the flood. I felt no judgement; rare act of kindness!! Fair to say, I will continue to return on a regular basis (don't worry, taming my ferals will remain a top priority!!). With a special thank you to the Manager/Owner? And Candace, Sienna and May xx

Excellent pub near the uphill Marina caravan touring park. Really good menu. Great food great accommodating staff and lovely cask beer. Had a nice band on the Sunday night so a great atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit. A great excuse to use their Wi-Fi to catch up with emails and work while we were away. Would definitely go back.

Best steak you can get in the southwest a brilliant pub, with log fires in the winter and a summer bar when the sun is out, well worth a visit.

The Ship is a pub literally at the heart of a village. It has a very small carpark hidden behind the building, with a very tight access down the side. Behind that it an extensive beer garden, and an outside bar to serve you. There's a small amount of parking on the road outside; access through the village is made difficult due to narrow roads and parked vehicles. We were there for a gathering after a funeral, and the pub laid on a rather pleasant range of sandwiches / snacks. It has a good atmosphere, and is the sort of place that attracts you back once you've been a few times.
