This place is lovely. Are you gluten intolerant? Vegetarian? Vegan? Clean food, coffee loving? Well, you are in the right place. The ice cream is to die for - taste the Bakewell Tart flavour. All the lush.

A little gem of a place! Great menu caters for all - really couldn't decide as a veggie what to have as so much choice, plus vegan options to top it off. Clean, fresh, quick efficient service. Friendly chef seen cooking food. What more could you want. Love it. Well done Salt Water making Southend special x

We had both breakfast and a take away lunch from the Saltwater Beach Cafe today and have to say it was amazing. We both can thoroughly recommend the salmon eggs benedict and the ploughman's lunch. And as for the icecream, well that is just so nice! The biggest problem is which of the things on the comprehensive menu do you choose?

The staff and owner here are lovely and more poignant to us for the extra help we had when we needed it after our visit - so kind and lovely and can’t thank them enough. And to add to fab staff is amazing ice-cream, their gelato is amazing and we will be back for more over the summer for sure xx

Such a gorgeous little place with the nicest, most accommodating staff. We booked a table for their after school tea on a Friday, there were two adults (Mums, I don't have 4 children...) two 4 years olds, one 2 year old and a baby, so at 5pm after school when the tiredness has kicked in, not an easy bunch to keep happy! The staff couldn't have been more helpful and understanding of the slightly feral children and screamy baby - colic and general tiredness. We will definitely be booking again for an after school tea. if they'll have us

Such a lovely relaxing spot for delicious brunch for us yesterday. Cooped up for days with colds and sore throats. The Saltwater is just the place to lift you up and dust of the cobwebs.

Stumbled across this lovely little cafe whilst the weather was so lovely for a Novembers day and to my delight they had vegan options which were clearly labelled enjoyed a smoothie and a vegan flapjack and will definitely be returning to try more from the menu x

New burger night on Fridays is a treat - mouthwatering burgers and fries served by lovely staff. Or they do click and collect too! Will definitely come back.

It is an excellent cafe. The team is friendly, upbeat and cares about every client. And even during peak hours, their chef finds a moment to communicate with the client personally and cheer up with his irresistible smile. The quality and taste of their food are excellent. They also take allergy sufferers very seriously. In addition, the cafe offers a charming and enchanting view directly to the sea. Highly recommend it to all visitors to this town.

Friendly, nice coffee, had a bacon baguette and ice cream (Cherry Bakewell, that was new). They have tables inside and out and were friendly to my dogs: water and a chopped up sausage, always appreciated! Edit: they also do vegan food and cater for people with food allergies. A bit tricky for those of us with disabilities if you want to go inside, but outside is easy and there is plenty of parking nearby. Oh, it is now the new Saltwater Beach Cafe, though there has been a cafe here for over 100 years. They do Paddleboarding lessons too! Ps Sandbanks was the previous name. UPDATE: They've adapted well to COVID-19. I've even come here with my wife who is in the high-risk category and we sat outside and ordered at the window. Tables are welll spread out and people don't cluster too close. So felt safe. As well as enjoying the pancakes and ice coffee. It is always good to frequent local independent businesses. They are a part of the community as much as you are. It's a place to say a friendly hello, exchange some news and just have a chat. So much more needed in these more socially isolated days thanks to the global pandemic. This is the new normal now, so while you can order stuff online, don't forget to keep your local businesses alive. You'd really miss them when they're gone. Not just for the convenience, but for the quality and as I mentioned social aspect. The internet means you can get almost anything online, but you can't do the people watching or browse a counter and try something new. Or get the smell of something good you want to try. Let's hope these businesses survive. It is us to us fellow customers!

I was in a rush somewhere and decided to pop in to this place to take away coffee ☕️. It’s a lovely place with very delicious pastry and lovely people working in there. I highly Recommend this place if you are around, pop to this cute place to take away or dine in no problem❤️.

The lady who served us our coffee was great fun to talk to and the cook was out chatting to some other customers. Very friendly atmosphere. Hot drinks and light bites availble. There are some tables and chairs but most people sit along the sea front.

A very windy day, but necessity said we needed breakfast and this seemed like a nice spot. Good service, but no indoor seating....although the outdoor setaing was quite sheltered.
