We live within walking distance of another Chinese but prefer to pay a delivery charge to get our Chinese from here. Yes, they are always busy, yes, it takes a while to get through on the phone and sometimes once you’re through you need to wait 5 mins, I’ve read all these things in the reviews, which do my head in, from my point of view, it just goes to prove they are the best and if you are wanting your food delivered straight away then the likelihood is you’ll be disappointed…there are other Chinese takeaways in Westbury that you will get it arrive quickly but it will probably be cold, tasteless and dried up. Also, even during the more manic times, nobody has ever been rude to me.
As long as you allow for a wait of some kind, be it phone or delivery, you will get your food hot, fresh and tasty in large portions. And the delivery drivers are always lovely.
There are many takeaways in Westbury but for Chinese I always have picked China Cottage.
Many times I have ordered chicken fried rice and it has always been cooked perfectly. Delivery has always been very quick. China Cottage is also great as the delivery fee cost is very reasonable compared to others in Westbury and as a bonus there's no minimum spend either.
It's sooo good. The best Chinese food I've ever had. The flavours in the hot and sour soup are incredible. Haven't had a single bad dish and don't expect to.

Very impressed with this Chinese, took a few attempts to get through on the phone but the man I spoke to was pleasant and friendly.
Card payment taken over the phone and food was delivered within half hour. The food was very nice, good portions and good value. I’d recommend!
They are definately the best takeaway in the area. You will have to wait because they are busy but as long as you factor this in then you will not be disappointed by the consistently delicious food.
No doubt the best Chinese in the whole of Wiltshire great food order regularly but had to wait nearly 2 hours the other night I find the staff on the phone are very Rude don’t really understand why considering how Often we order from them but it won’t Stop us ordering great food well worth a try
Ordered satay prawns and special curry amongst other things . This was a new place to us over our local chinese and we was pleasantly surprised. Special curry is a new favourite and the satay was much sweeter than its equivalent. The seaweed was spot on and all in a relatively decent price . Super quick service! Thank you!
Absolutely superb. Only complaint is there wasn’t more time for another pint in The Ludlow Arms next door while it was being prepared.
The food is always great. Staff are friendly and helpful. But, waiting times are far too long. Obviously a very popular place. It's the only thing that let's them down as it's usually a 45 - 60 min wait.
Me and my family order from here regularly, it is by far the best Chinese in Wiltshire. I always recommend it to friends and family, since then they have also not used another Chinese. The food is always SO good and hot! Sometimes it will take a while for food to be delivered, but what establishment isn’t busy when they provide such wonderful food! but my gosh is it worth the wait! I’d give China Cottage a million stars if I could! Thank you all so much

Best Chinese in Westbury! Wouldn't go anywhere else. Naturally on a Friday or Saturday they are sooooo busy but its worth the wait. We ordered a chinese tonight (sunday) phoned our order through and it was with us in 30 mins. Food is always piping hot and great flavour! Value for money as portions are huge. When ever we have a chinese with my parents in Warminster we always take it over on our to them and they agree its the best they have had! Keep it up guys!!!
