We've just been for Sunday lunch. I can safely say since relocating to the Forest 6 years ago this is the best Sunday lunch we have had out. The beef was cooked exquisitely, amazing roast potatoes and really tasty gravy. Seasonal veg were cooked to perfection. Presentation was immaculate. Great food, good atmosphere, music was perfectly chosen and not too loud. Fabulous service from start to finish. Thank you Emma, Summer and Sue, great job!

We went to the Lyon Inn last night for dinner as a table of 10. Understandably we had to pre order as there were so many of us! The food was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly! We had some slightly awkward requests but the team rallied to the challenge and made it seem no fuss at all! I had seam bream for a main course and it was cooked perfectly, crispy skin and succulent fillet. Nom! All the staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough to help us out and make us feel very welcome. Plus the decor is gorgeous, loved the wallpaper in the ladies toilets particularly ha! Well worth a visit for great food and lovely service, can’t recommend enough.

Superb experience at The Lion on Sunday . Having called late on Saturday evening hoping for a table I was politely told they were fully booked which I accepted . However no more than 10minutes had passed & I had a call back as they had just had a cancellation. Fantastic , the service was great all with a smile , plates cleared away & the food was superb , my wife being a vegetarian always has limited choice but The Lion has a vegan roast & a Brie tart which she choose . Great favour . I had the beef roast & they certainly were not shy with the beef , 4 good slices . All in all well done a great experience you should all be proud of what you are achieving . We will be back without question .

We visited tonight and had food off the Tapas Tuesday menu. It was very nice!! We got 6 plates between the two of us and it was plenty filling. The duck and fondant potato was our favourite!! We also treat ourselves to a cheese board after and this was really lovely. It cost us around 50 quid for 6 tapas, 1 cheese baord and 2 pints. Which is great value.

A vegan’s paradise ! We has a spicy lentil & squash soup, followed by a vegan meat roast and a vegan cheese platter. We finished with strawberry and vegan cream. Everything was delicious!

Stopped in for lunch on the bank holiday weekend, service was exemplary, amazing array of drinks on offer, I had a local beer to accompany my scotch egg and triple cooked chips, which were delicious (no need for balsamic swirl, the egg speaks for itself). My other half had the basket meal of salt and vinegar chicken thigh and chips, an incredibly generous portion. Menu is very good and looking around we will be trying the sharing platter as they looked superb. Throughly recommended if you're in the area.

We were visiting the Westbury Court Gardens and this public house is just next door. Good selection of both food options and drinks. We picked two different light bites, the wife picked soup and half a sandwich, while I went with sandwich and wedges, although they call them chips. The portions were well worth the money, they tasted great and very filling

Thanks Tom for booking us in last minute with Ted pup. Best Brulee, sticky toffee pudding & ice cream that we've ever had the pleasure to eat in any restaurant, "anywhere"😄 Think I'll forget the main & have two puds next time. 👍

Called in for lunch after visiting Westbury Gardens. Very impressed with the warm welcome we received, we chose to sit outside as we had our dog with us. The outdoor seating area was second to none with blankets provided if necessary The food was excellent and arrived swiftly, was freshly cooked and piping hot. We will definitely visit again we were so impressed. We had Panko Chicken, Chorizo and potato Croquettes and Onion Rings from the light bites and sides menu. Accompanied by Black Coffee, Elderflower and Honey gin and tonic, Hot chocolate and Diet Coke.Definitely will visit again, thank you for a great time.

We were lucky to get a seat here, thankfully they have good sheltered options in the garden with a stock of blankets available. The vegan roast is also excellent.

Two of us dined on "Tapas Tuesday". What a fantastic idea when you can't decide what you fancy - have several small plates of different things! Brilliant! The food was delicious and the service excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

Excellent food, super service, could not fault this lovely place. We both had a pie, hubby steak and ale and I had the veggie. You are advised on the menu that there will be a wait, which there was but it was well worth it. Excellent.

Friendly but discreet staff, well cooked food using quality ingredients and a chilled ambience. Not cheap but not expensive either - average pricing for these post-COVID days. Strongly recommend.
