We stayed here on 29/12/16 and have a great experience from start to finish. Stuart and Karen couldn't have done more for us and we are at night and had a great value pub meal , Stuart then even let me best him at pool while he served at the bar and to top the night off we were entertained, along with a full pub full of very friendly, happy customers, by a local singer, Peter Brogdan, who was amazing.
I am not really a pub person but this has restored my faith in the good old British pub scene and good old British pub food ( I am a chef as well so I know what I am talking about ).
I couldn't think of a better landlord and landlady than these two and they work hard to make the pub welcoming and are succeeding so please support them by visiting and trying for yourselves. We will be doing just that regularly!
Have to say, the food is amazing! The Fish Medley is soooo tasty and the Sunday Carvery is beautiful! Proper home cooked and spot on. Highly recommend the food here (and I'm a fussy beggar) as everything is so nice, properly cooked, well presented and at a reasonable price too! This place needs stars!! *****
My mum and I popped in today for a glass of wine and a spot to eat! The food, service and surroundings were all fabulous..along with the price.

Had a fantastic meal at your new burger night, build your own burger I had burger, avocado, Stilton all the trimming, Home made chips, onion rings, my daughter had chicken, bacon and mozzarella bloody lovely well worth a try fantastic value for money check out the menu, thank you guys xx
It was our second stay here with brit stops in our motorhome we brought friends this time weather was lovely, this is a very friendly pub with friendly staff n customers alike the food is excellent great prices plenty of choice and a lovely setting by the canal and marina we will most definitely be visiting a few more times
While staying at the caravan site we visited this lovely pub. We were made extremely welcome by Karen and Stuart and staff straight away. We ate here for the three nights we were staying and also had Sunday lunch. the food was excellent. An absolutely lovely pub with a fantastic warm.and friendly atmosphere. We will certainly be coming back.
Lived in the area for two years and never been here even though we drives passed all the time. Whilst the kids were away we decided to give it a try as I'd always wanted to sit outside and watch the boats and passers by. Food was beautiful, staff super friendly, excellent service too. Will definitely be back and would recommend to others.
Me and my partner went for Christmas afternoon tea just before Christmas. One word for the food, AMAZING. All the food was home made, no packets, nothing. Best afternoon tea around I would say! Also been a few times for breakfast. Very goooood ...The cosy little dining room makes for a really nice private experience. Can’t wait to go for burgers in February.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable 3 nights at this wonderful pub. Stuart and Karen were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and good value. Lovely walks nearby along rivers and canals. Final evening involved an entertaining bike night followed by an open mic night. Me and my dogs were made to feel like family ... And they even let me play my accordion!!
As a fool, I did not book a table. (Friday Evening) Many a place would have turned you away. But not this establishment. They explained the situation clearly and gave an approximate time that we'd have to wait. (45 mins) and to the minute our order was taken. The 3 difference dishes were served at the same time perfectly.
All 3 dishes were delicious. Steak, Duck, and Ratatouille.
We were offered a free round of drinks or desserts for our wait. When it was my fault, not theirs. Lovely hosts and lovely food.
Been for Sunday lunch and the service was excellent the meal was delicious the beer was second to none lovely landlady 10 out off 10 will come back again
Absolutely perfect. Cannot recommend highly enough. The location is a great base to visit lots of beautiful places from. The whole place is stunning. The rooms are perfectly clean and spacious. Food is excellent. But above all we were astounded by the friendliness of every member of staff especially Sadie and Kelly who went above and beyond to make our stay special. We will be returning very soon. Thank you to each and every member of staff.

I brought my disabled nephew and brother (who were visiting from the states.) The owners were so attentive and kind. The food was fabulous! I highly recommend this pub as they make everyone feel welcome! 5 Stars!!!!
This pub must be the most welcoming pub. I have been in. the landlord and lady are fantastic. The locals are very friendly, and the food is great. This is my second time in the pub, and it won't be my last

We went to The Waterfront for a Sunday lunch, it is run by a very hard working couple, the lady works on the bar and helps organise the tables the landlord works in the kitchen and on the carvery, I think that the day we were there, there was a uoung lady helping, but there is no doubt that they work really hard, the carved had 5 or 6 choices, the veg was good. And despite some of the less favorable reviews, we had a really good meal, good value and we will return....
The issue of the Carpark does need considering, but the reason is that people who do not use the pub, want yo leave their vehicles on there, which isn't fair. We had a meal with friends who were up from Cornwall, I asked the landlady if we were OK to go for a walk along the Trent after our meal, this wasn't an issue. Just ask, the machine to register is in the bar, as so as you go in, just ask where it is and put your Registration number in, sorted. Enjoy a lovely Sunday lunch and hopefully the next te we go the weather will be good enough to sit outside looking over at the boats.

Parked here for the Coronation weekend. Excellent freshly cooked food. Pleasant and accommodating owners. If camping do not arrive before 3pm

Had Sunday carvery here today. Good choice of meats (4). Excellent large Yorkshire puds. Good range of vegetables, mashed swede and onions very nice. Blue cheese sauce to compliment the cauliflower. We sat in the bar as this is the dog friendly section. Landlady was welcoming and chatty. Will visit again I am sure.
Great experience what with regular bike nights on a thursday, some lovely machines.
