Great meal tonight at the Old Bakehouse, West Linton. Food delicious....and many GF choices available. Excellent service from the staff and owner. Will certainly visit again in the near future. Highly recommend.

We are on holidays from Canada, rented a holiday cottage in the neighborhood. We had dinner last Saturday at the Old Bakehouse, it was so good, we had to come back. Both experiences were amazing. Food excellent, service excellent. The owners Iain and Sue are so welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.
Really excellent meal last night at the Bakehouse. Christmas menu, lots of choice, really tasty and fresh, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Exceptional value for money, even includes a glass of mulled wine! Thanks for looking after us. Perfect start to xmas weekend.

22 people, everyone really enjoyed it! The Pheasant was absolutely delicious.
Ian was really helpful, even adding an extra person on at the last minute!

Pleased to report that Pascal's (and Sue's) cooking is top-notch, and any potential fears about the items on the new menu are unfounded. Speaking as a regular, it's still as wonderful as ever.
Fantastic restaurant! We went there for the first time last night and had a really amazing meal. The service was also first class, with friendly, attentive staff. Definitely one of the best meals we have had in a while...all 3 courses were delicious! Recently moved to the area and delighted to find this little gem only a few miles from our home.
Back under old management from June 2018 and what a difference. Thanks again Fiona for a great Saturday evening. Delighted to see you and Steve back at The Old Bakehouse. My friends and I found this little gem by chance after travelling home from the Tough Mudder Scotland event yesterday. Incredibly friendly staff and the food was amazing! We enjoyed it so much we are planning our next visit from Dunfermline already :)
Walked through West Linton after a long drive from the East Midlands and stumbled upon this gem.
Fantastic food on both occasion on a Saturday and Friday night.

Recently moved to West Linton ( April 2019) and have squeezed in at least a monthly visit to the Bakehouse
Been in as part of a large family gathering, as well as smaller groups (me, my 12 year old daughter and 11 year old son) and as a couple.
Service is always with a smile and lovely welcome back each time.
On every occasion the food has been delicious, I have asked for recommendations from the menu twice now and both times have proved great choices.
My children also love it and have had the menu tweaked as requested ( mini fish and chips being the consistent order for my 11 year old)
House red also a hit - yum!
Definitely worth 5 starts, food , service, value for money and all in all a great night out, please go and try it for yourself . Love it!
Fantastic eatery in a beautiful village, a short drive from Edinburgh. Great atmosphere, helpful staff and a wide menu, covering all tastes. Food always delicious, without fail. We are lucky enough to eat there and to get ‘Bakeaways’ (takeaway!) frequently Always send our holiday cottage guests there for a lovely meal out, during their stay on the area. 5*
Nice, romantic little restaurant in an old bakery. Small rooms and low ceiling. Lovely place for a nice dinner. The fish and chips is a good portion, you should try. I had Cider with it, found a new one which I now prefer.
Like the Tardis, this lovely restaurant is larger on the inside than on the out. Enter via the warm and cozy but small bar, equipped with sofas and a range fireplace. Through the side and it opens up into a much larger restaurant serving fine Scottish fayre. The Old Bakehouse retains many period features and is warm and welcoming. The food was of a very high standard and not something dug out of the freezer as you may get at food pubs. Family friendly and yet cozy at the same time. Well worth a visit just off the A702 in the historic and picturesque village if West Linton. Can thoroughly recommend.
Really great food drove from Newcastle for Sunday lunch when I found out the family had a booking, wanted to see my Nephew and his lovely partner (have to say that) but the lunch location made it all an extra special couple of hours. The staff were so attentive supplying little extras as a bottle of water and replacing it when needed and no it is not out of the way cost wise great value with the added bonus of a lovely building.
Excellent food and service. Staff are very friendly. If back in the area we will eat here again.
I went for dinner last night with my family. The steak was the best I’ve tasted in a long time! Ian the owner was amazing and his hospitality is excellent - my kids love him! We’ve booked a table of 20 for a family birthday next month and we can’t wait to go back.

Just really nice place to eat... waitress had a full knowledge of the menu and very attentive. Food was braw and made even better with the good company. Couldn't fault any thing. I would recommend it.
A hidden gem in the beautiful setting of West Linton. Amazing service with friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Great food with something for everyone, including vegetarian, vegan and Gluten free options. The house red is a fantastic wine and amazing value, and goes perfectly with the game pie. If available you have try the Toblerone cheese cake 😋 wow! A must visit at anytime.. brunch, lunch or dinner.

A must if you want great food. One of my great memories will be sitting on a comfy sofa with a single malt in hand in front of a open fire, listening to Frank Sinatra playing on Ian's record player you cant beat vinyl . with the snow coming down outside . Cant get any better
Just the most delicious food and the staff are amazing too. We had the chicken liver pate to start (super yummy) and then game pie (to die for), chicken wrapped in prosciutto with mozerella and rich, creamy sauce (food for the soul), Mexican chicken burger (enormous and unctuous) and children's mac n cheese (we had an empty bowl so that says it all!) When we are back up that way we will make a special trip to go back. So, so good!

Have dined here, both in the restaurant, and the famous Bakeaway (take away) lots of times. The food is always an extremely high standard and they always serve it with enough entertainment as host but are never intrusive. Will continue to eat here!
