My faith in good pub food has returned. Lovely home made food with good portions and not over priced.i highly recommended this place it very popular so may be worth a call book a table first.the chips were massive. And home made burger was realy tasty my son had that. I had the steak and mushrooms ale steamed pudding. Fantastic. Her in doors had lasagne a big portion she said it's the best she has eaten in a long time.so don't waste your money on neptunes. And them pubs that just serve you microwave food.come here eat the real thing
Staff very friendly, helpful and professional. We had spinach and chicken lasagne absolutely delicious. You must have a dessert we had toffee sticky pudding and strawberry pavlova both to die for ,what a great chef they have.
Absolutely fantastic turned up Sunday Lunchtime without booking, was told a bit of a wait, staff were really accommodating. Food was lovely, great value recommend the combo ploughman's it was excellent. Definitely will go back.
Staff were so accommodating when I phoned to make a very short notice Sunday booking, allowing us to come 15 minutes early before official opening so that we could be accommodated for a meal, to fit with our limited time availability. Very friendly and helpful staff, very reasonable prices and good food from a large menu choice. I loved the way that adults with smaller appetites were encouraged to order from the children's very adequate menu. Portions were perfect with prices to match. A lovely country setting; we enjoyed our visit very much and will visit again.
Nice pub in spectacular countryside alongside a delightful river. Just popped in for a quick one on my way home and found the staff very friendly and the recommendation for a nice draught cider really hit the spot. I shall be visiting again soon 👍
Fantastic pub, found it while out and about for a day. Great welcome, amazing food and good beer. What else could you want?
We was on a long wkend away and thought we would try the local pub for Sunday dinner! The roast was amazing and my boys loved the kids meals! Lovely friendly staff and very reasonable prices :-) xx
Hadn't visited for a while but had a lovely lunch, with possibly the best fillet steak I'd had for a long time. Well done, will be back

A great find will call in again
First time visiting the pub today and enjoyed a delicious roast lamb dinner. Food and service both great. Dog friendly and friendly locals.
Just before Christmas, we visited this wonderful pub. We stopped here on our way to London. Beautifully decorated, it looked inviting at first sight. Homemade sausage rolls were served at the counter under a glass bonnet and luckily for us, we were able to sit right at the table next to the fireplace. We were told that the kitchen would close in half an hour as it was already early afternoon. But we still got an excellent meal and a delicious Christmas pudding to finish. This visit filled my heart with joy and this pub is highly recommended! We were very happy to be able to continue our onward journey into hectic, pre-Christmas London so fortified. We are already looking forward to our next visit!
We were staying locally at new beach caravan site and didn’t fancy going to the carvery next door and after asking for a few recommendations we came across Boltophs Bridge inn. We called on the Saturday and was able to get a table booked for Sunday. We ended up arriving ahead of hour before our booked time and were prepared to wait as it was down to us that we arrived early. We were shown to our table and sat and had a drink before ordering our food at 3pm which is when we had booked the table for. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was brilliant. My only thing which is personal to me is that I would have preferred crispier roast potatoes but that does not take away from the fact that it was a delicious Sunday roast. The puddings were from the special board and they were lovely too. Would definitely return next time we are in the area
Went there for a family meal. Large diverse menu options with daily specials too. Service was quite slow and we had to get the attention of staff a couple of times as we felt we'd been forgotten but the staff were very friendly and polite. The food is all homemade which is refreshingly nice. Good sized portions too and delicious. Will definitely go back.
Just had lunch in this dog friendly pub ,liver and bacon for the husband and lasagna for me. The food was amazing ,lovely flavours and generous portions. If you haven’t tried it you’re missing out. Will definitely return again.
Home cooked food and good value. We are in the evening and the service was great. If you go during the day and the weather is clear, apparently you can see giraffes, from the wildlife park, on the hills. Would return.
Been here a few times with different family members. Its loud yet peaceful. Its full of characters who remind me what pubs are about. The staff are very friendly full of smiles and joy. The pimms is out of this World...my wife loves them. Loads of fruit. They also take the blue light card which is unusual for a pub and well received. Give it a go.
Excellent food at great prices. White wine selection good and chilled, red wine good selection all fairly priced. Top that off with top notch service and you can't go wrong. No issue in recommending this pub for food or a drink.
After along tiring day running a local charity dog show. We decided to pop in for a meal. Service was quick well presented cooked Sunday dinner. As lm a small eater they aloud me to have the child option.
Always enjoy coming here. The food is superb and the sauces one still remembers the flavour days later. Good choice of ales and cider. Good local family run pub.
Great pub great food, now moved down here and this is my local, can highly recommend as the atmosphere is family friendly the staff are fantastic and the food is the best pub grub around. Had a 3 course meal today (18-8-21) served by the Manageress Leigh, and can safely say the best pub meal I've had, service and food superb, food sourced locally, I may be a bit bias, but tend to tell the way it is (see review for elephant and hind, Dover). All in all not rushed, and going by the look on the faces of other punters everyone was pleased.
Food was out of this world...really superb. Visit was spoilt by a regular at the bar with a deep loud voice. He was downing shots and getting louder and it was only 6pm. Couldnt hear ourselves talking eating our meal.
Super place. Typical country pub. Good simple food served efficiently and with a smile. We booked for 1.30 but arrived early. Were able and happy to serve us straight away.
Lots of staff busy. but neeeded organisation we left after 20 mins if no drink or orders taken or acknowledgment of be with you soon..this is positive criticism i work in trade. Have some one takibg irders. Someone doing drinks soneine bringing food customers all tound were complaining. Its a shane as its been chaos last 3 times we been in. Previously a 5 star review. I left.
Nearest pub to me now Lympne closed down. Pub itself is OK and is nicely situated in countryside. Better atmosphere in the winter when the open fire is blazing and you have an ale to warm the cockles of your heart whilst the chill outside rages. Haven't recently experienced the cuisine, last time i did a few years back I was not impressed. Perhaps its time to give it another go to see if it has improved. Beer garden for a country could be better. It's a decent pub out of the was of the hussle and bussle , so visit to unwind.
