Visited here 2 nights in a row after finding the establishment one night, after an amount of stumbling around in the dark from our hotel (a mile away). Once here we were met with a very friendly landlord, and very cosy surroundings. Food is great, the beer is amazing (regularly changing real ales) and the service was outstanding! Local or visitor, I suggest you try this pub, you will not be let down.

Another really lovely night here. So hospitable, can't do enough for you. Proper village pub. Great food, well chosen wine list too for those non beer drinkers! It's just a smashing place.

Found this place on Google and decided to give it a try. The staffs are amazing, very friendly and helpful, we came on a Sunday so ordered sunday roast, the beef is amazing, almost melts in your mouth amazing! My wife told me in the girl's toilet they also have stocked sanitary stuff, amazing! The half portion fish and chips for children is plenty and the fish is very fresh. Will definatly come again when in the area.

Very cosy and friendly pub. Food was delicious but a little expensive for the portion size presented. Came here for my mum's birthday and they brought out a little surprise gift of chocolate fudge at the end which was a really nice gesture. I had fish and chips which was lovely but would have enjoyed it even more if the skin was completely removed and my partner had a burger which was really nice just a little bit lacking of sauce as it was slightly on the dry side. Puddings were amazing!

Went for a sunday roast and the atmosphere was so cosy. Everyone was so lovely, our server paige was wonderful. We had lamb and apple crumble to finish, both brilliantly done. The lamb was delicious and the crumble, while a bit sweet, had a perfect level of crunch to the crust. Would highly recommend for a family dinner or even just to enjoy a nice drink. They also have a garden to the back which is just as lovely to sit for some fresh air. We sat out there on a cold day and they brought out some snuggly blankets and put out some heat lamps to keep us warm. Truly a really lovely place to go.

Four of us went here for Sunday lunch and I honestly couldn’t fault it. The roast beef was the best we seen in a pub. The service was prompt, courteous and friendly. Lots of really nice little touches everywhere - in food and decor - which make it feel really classy establishment. Thanks!

Absolute gem of a pub, lively, welcoming atmosphere, well supported by local families. Excellent beer choices on tap, classy but unpretentious grub.

Can't beat this place for excellent food and fantastic service. Sunday roast is amazing. A truly great find. Only 25 minutes from Oxford, but well worth a drive from further afield. Recent winner of Ox in a box award, and that's not surprising!

We did think the menu was limited. Having said that, our main meals were delicious. The wait of over 20 minutes for 1 cheese platter was disappointing, but the staff were very apologetic and did not add it to the bill. Overall, we had a pleasant evening and would go back.

My wife and I recently attended a private function at the Plough. Owain and his excellent team made every effort to make everyone feel relaxed and welcome. My wife has a shellfish allergy and was understandably apprehensive regarding catering arrangements. Owain and the team acknowledged this and catered for her safely and professionally. The food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. On every front this was a wonderfully enjoyable experience. Thank you Owain!
