Visited 6th Jan 2018 after being invited to the tasting evening. What a lovely evening my husband and I had. Great selection of food to taste - even though we have eaten here many times we always go for the same food. Lovely selection of starters, mains and desserts. By the time the evening had finished you would of thought that we had eaten a 3 course meal. Sam and the other members of staff were very friendly and attentive. Love the new layout/decor.

We went yesterday for a family meal to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday the staff was so lovely and allowed us to decorate the table with balloons confetti etc and bought the cake out and joined in with the singing! The food was excellent good portion sizes and well presented and all arrived at same time and we as a family enjoy the fact that we get time between courses and most importantly to us that we was not rushed at any point to leave the table.. we have been a few times and are looking forward to our next visit next month to celebrate another birthday. we travel down from Lincolnshire to see family and really enjoy coming to eat here.

First time back since I was a young lad (I'd say 15, maybe 16 years ago was my last visit). Friendly staff. Good prices. Lovely garden. Will be back again soon :)

There was an electrical issue with extraction which wasn't working and a delivery had also not turned up, these issue meant a limited menu. The staff could not have coped better. The issues were explained to us when booking in. Waitress was so apologetic and helpful. Professional staff and chef who coped well in a bit of a crisis. We our enjoyed our meal, service and were offered a free drink as we had to wait so long. We'll done team Fire Crest

We've been here twice, both times after looking at wedding venues, and both times just made the day complete. The food is amazing and portions are generous but the service is second to none. They were so considerate eithout being intrusive and really made what could have been just a quick stop in the road into an occasion. Fantastic pub, would recommend every time

Great service from the staff, especially Arthur he serviced our table and shon when he said he would check if there was any other flavour crane Brûlée they could do. The food! Fantastic. Greta patè, good prawns and scallops cooked just right. Lamb rack wow, beautiful. Veg was cooked good and the shepherds pie was great too. The beef bourguignon was also so full of flavour and the meat was amazing. We will be back.

Well where do I even start, from arrival till the end of our time here we have had the best service in a long time! Greeted by friendly staff, after 1 minute of walking in we were sat at our table in the lovely and peaceful garden! Drinks were served quickly, bit of banter with the staff, which in my eyes is always a welcoming and approachable experience! We ordered the Pork Belly and the House Burger, and wow, who would have thought that Pork Belly, Mash and Apple sorbet would go together so well! Like mini fireworks going off in your mouth! The burger was out of this world, soft bun, flavourful patty and the softest beef brisket ever! And the sauce? Oh my god it was incredible! We will definitely be coming back here more often! Our compliments to the FOH staff and the kitchen team! You're all doing such a great job, keep it up! :D

Stopped on the off chance of Sunday lunch, despite being fully booked front of house manager found us a spot in the quiet bar area , My son is autistic and suited us well . The only letdown was a side dish we had ordered never arrived with our main meal but Alice our server delt with this by making sure it was taken off bill, full marks to this lady ,I believe they were having troubles with the ordering system/till. Will definitely stop and give this place another visit when I next pass. Ricky

Lovely cosy historic pub, great atmosphere, real fire. The food was brilliant but the puddings let it down for me. Just not of the same standard. Even with a busy mother's day nothing ran out. Service was a little slow but not surprising given how busy they were. On the plus side there were lots of staff to look after us. I am very fussy my children are over the moon with how well it went and the food. The scallops and cod loin were excellent and I really want a whole plate to myself rather than just trying a little bit.

Being a Monday evening it was very quiet, hence the 4*. However, the staff were lovely and attentive. Food was great, and we believe it was cooked by a relief chef. Kat our waitress was extremely helpful and polite and was also new the the job, but couldn't do enough for us, and to be fair if she hadn't told us she was new we wouldn't have known.

Beautiful pub with tons of ‘olde worlde’ charm. Friendly staff who fitted us in despite the fact we hadn’t booked in advance. Nice menu with plenty of choice. We both chose the Pork Belly and it was delicious so would recommend. We will be back!

Very quiet inside we were sat at a table which was tucked away and forgotten about so the sevcive between courses was sloooow. The food however was excellent. Everyone at our table had something different, all dishes looked nice and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

This was a return visit for my husband, who had stopped here for a meal sometime ago & he was disappointed as it didn't live up to his memories of the meal he had. We overheard another customer saying the food was much improved now 🤔 and they were told it was because they had a new chef🤨

We were seated by a big table that had children that were rather loud, once they left it was much better. The food was great just wish it was warmer

Me and my friend went here today for lunch we both ordered roast dinner, and asked for a pot of gravy,so we could put our own on,that did not happen, our dinners were warm.,may I add we had a lovely Waiter, very friendly guy,who seemed to be doin all the running around.we also had coffee and dessert,.coffee was no good to much froth.choc brownie was not good,.I haven't been to this place in awhile.i won't be returning.the atmosphere of a very bossy barman spoilt this day. ,And after alot of glasses were broken, that was not clean up properly.God forbid if anyone had slip.
