We went for lunch with the 2 for 1 offer before Christmas, never been before so had no real idea of what the food was like. We both agreed that it was the best steak we'd had in a long time and the portions are just right. Lovely staff and food which I cannot recommend enough. Plus the bonus of lovely scenery too x
The bar staff are great Kate was so helpful ☆ would definitely recommend the calamari not rubbery just perfect☆the only little thing I would say was that both fries skinny & fat were over cooked! But still worth 5 stars☆
A random, off the cuff choice to go for a family Sunday lunch! We hadn't booked and they were so accommodating in finding us a table. The food was delicious and served by efficient, friendly staff. Would highly recommend
Fantastic Christmas lunch at the Plume yesterday! Totally amazing service, food, atmosphere & just perfect for us this year. We've never been out on Christmas Day for our dinner before, but having spent the best part of 4 months going back & forth into hospital, it seemed the best way for us all to be together, yet have time off from the Christmas chores. We couldn't have asked for a better time & spent it in a better place. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard and tirelessly to make our meal & time there fun & gave us new memories for Christmas time. Thank you doesn't seem enough for making our day! We always love our visits there, but this was perfect! 👍
A couple of friends and I came here yesterday with our children and I was very impressed. I have been a few times before but not for awhile as I wasn't very impressed by the food or staff the last couple of times. However this time was faultless. Friendly staff and although busy, food came out quickly. Great value and easily the best burger I can remember eating! So glad standards are back, as this is a lovely walk across the fields for me, my son and the dog. We will definitely be back. Thank you plume! �
Really enjoyed our meal today at the Plume of Feathers, I'd eaten there before but this time we went as a large party. Service was really good, staff were attentive and polite. The portion sizes were really good and service of food was quick.
The Plume of Feathers is a great place and never fails to provide a great time. We came in today without a reservation, but we’re easily accommodated. Thomas, was extremely welcoming and friendly, as were the rest of the staff. The food was superb. I had the ale pie and mash and my wife the veg roast. We were even given a side of cauliflower cheese on the house 🤗. The food was delicious and comforting. What more can be said!
Family of 12 came here to celebrate 2 family members birthdays. Food was pre ordered, came all at the same time all hot. We had forgot to order 2 desserts but staff said this was no problem. They even ensured 2 children’s Ice Cram had no sauce as requested on the day. No rushing. Very chilled beautiful clean tidy pub with very friendly and helpful staff.
We will definitely come back again.
I have eaten at the Plume on many occasions and have always been delighted with my meal and the service, I particularly enjoy a Fish and chip meal and am never disappointed at the Plume. I am motivated to review my last visit as on this occasion, I was served by Stacie, I believe she is one of the pub managers, and also Sophie. Our visit was made extremely special by these two, due to their attentiveness and and attention to detail. They made sure that we were comfortable and all of our needs were met, they checked back with us on a number of occasions to make sure we were happy with our food. All in all, they made us feel that we were receiving a very personal service. Well done both of you!
We celebrated our sons Christening here with aprox. 25 guests and had a lovely time. We booked the main restaurant area with a buffet which was great. Due to the nice weather we all ended up spending most our time in their garden overlooking fields with horses. They also have a small playground and plenty of lawn for the kids to run around. The staff was very welcoming and friendly.
Stacey made planning the event a walk in the park and was always prompt to answer any questions we may have.
I cannot recommend them enough for an event. Thank you very much for the lovely and relaxing day!
Great pub to walk to with the dogs, enjoy a refreshing pint (or two) and stroll home again.

Visited on Sunday for a family lunch. Seated immediately and drinks/food order taken within a few minutes. Food was a little slow but very busy for lunch orders. Great atmosphere. Good service from Poppy, Havana & Joe!
The manager and staff do a great job. They offer great beers, good food and a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Had a lovely coffee and cake here this morning for a friend’s birthday. The welcome was as warm as the log fire! Will certainly be back.
Beautiful restaurant and great service. All staff are very polite. We visited with 2 toddlers and the huge garden space was a great, safe place for them to run around in. The small playground area was also a big hit with them. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Lovely views and tasty food, highly recommend and we will be visiting again soon.
We celebrated my daughters 21st birthday at the Plume last night in the pub garden. Fabulous service from Thomas, Quinn and the team. Thanks so much for providing fabulous facilities and great service.
Popped in last night for a spontaneous drink in the evening sun. Served immediately. Seated in the beautiful garden with a stunning setting. Staff all working hard clearing glasses and attentive. Especially a charming young server called Jed. Very efficient and happy young man.
Plume is hands down the best pub in Welwyn! There's a great atmosphere and plenty of room, including a lovely spacious garden. The service is always 10/10 with special shout out to Stacie and Sophie who always have a smile on their face and are keen to help make your experience there great. On top of all this they always host events both for fun and for good causes (Grease Night/Coffee Mornings) and put the most effort into decorations etc. that I've ever seen before (especially at Christmas).
Again want to say a huge thank you for keeping the traditional pub life alive!
