Went today for our wedding anniversary, and had Sunday lunch. The food was top class! Cooked to perfection, very tasty and just the right size portions. Very helpful, polite friendly staff and owners, great location and people sitting in the front garden in the sunshine looked like they were having a very nice relaxing afternoon. The staff made a fuss of us and put out lovely heart shaped candles and rose petals which we was not expecting! They just went that little bit extra so we had a lovely romantic anniversary lunch. Would highly recommend it. Gary & Wendy, The dirty Half Hundred Live Band.

Popped in for lunch today after a ramble on Mardley Heath. Lovely man, Alex, gave me his seat by a roaring log fire while he roasted chestnuts for all to share. My fish finger sandwiches were something to behold. A true treat finding this delightful pub. Great locals and equally great staff. We will be back..........Unfortunately I sent review to wrong pub. This is their reply.........Hi Terri Sawford thank you for the 5* review! It doesn't look out of place with the others we're proud to have received but I think you meant to post about the Robin Hood and Little John at Rabley Heath, Welwyn? (Which looks like a very fine establishment!) Of course I'm sure many of our regulars would be happy to give up their seats by the fire (though sadly ours aren't log ones :() I've not seen too many roasting chestnuts by them. We've recently started doing some fine snack menus (pasties, hot soup and what we're confident will become the infamous Sunday Roast Cob) we've not quite got fish finger sandwiches on our menu (though this is high on our landlords list) We do have some great locals and some brilliant staff and we're proud of our little pub so your words echo those below. It must be something in the pub name as we share some great traits with The Robin Hood and Little John in Welwyn but I wanted to mention this to you so you can repost onto their page and they can see your kind words. Please come and visit us if you're ever in the area and we hope to get a review meant for us :)

Unexpected stop on a bike ride around the countryside. The Robin Hood is great find! Friendly staff and a lovely garden full of benches. Being on a bike ride, we didn't want anything too heavy and both opted for an omelet with chips and peas, one with ham and one with mushroom. Both were delicious! The ham was chunky and home cooked. All in all, excellent, thank you!

You need to book in advance to get a table but we managed to get the last table albeit hard low stools. Food very good. We had prawn sandwiches and tuna jacket potato. Well presented, good size portions and delicious! Would recommend and will be back. Food isn't served on Mons and Tues.

I was one of a group of about 20 walkers most of whom had lunch. This was bank holiday Monday and therefore very busy so it was impressive that they accepted the booking. As it turned out all the more so because half the staff were off with covid! Consider this they did extremely well with the service, though inevitably with a bit of a delay. Everyone I was sitting with really enjoyed the food, I certainly enjoyed my "light bite" smoked salmon baguette. Prices are a touch on the high side but not too bad. All in all a lovely place to enjoy a drink and a meal at the end of a lovely walk!

This is 2nd time I've been to this pub for lunch in last few weeks it is a gem in the country absolutely love it. Everyone so friendly and so good with dogs. Food was delicious can highly recommend the Steak Pie best I've ever had not one bit of nasty meat. Would definitely recommend this pub ....we're so sad it's so far away from us but will definitely go back

Met my husband here for a drink while he was on a long cycle ride. Cute little pub but lots of outdoor space. Staff were really friendly and they had decorated the inside for Halloween. We didn’t try any of the food but it looked good!

Been here a few times now with friends for Sunday lunch and I have to say that this place is amazing. The food cannot be faulted, hearty portions full of flavour!!! Call in advance to book a table to avoid disappointment as it fills up fast! Great facilities, children friendly with probably the best infant changing room I've come across! The food is quick to come, the staff are friendly and atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a pleasant country pub. I genuinely love this place :)

Family meal consisting of 4 adults. Practising social distancing, hand sanitising, wearing masks and tables are well spaced. Great choice of food, large portions, fast and efficient service. The meals were cooked well and delicious. We can't wait to come again and will definitely recommend The Robin Hood and Little John Pub to our friends and family.

We keep coming here as the food and ambience are great. Sunday 6th June 2021 we had lunch again. The Sunday Roast was as always the best. My partner and I think it's the best around. Thank you very much Mandy and Will. We will be back very soon.

The perfect country pub for good food at great value. The owner of this establishment knows what he /she is doing. I am very discerning, my business head is always working and I am constantly looking for improvements to ways that I can improve a business. However, this restaurant has left me struggling. I can't t think of anything that I would do differently. You will find a menu full of tasty treats. A specials board that is actually 'special' and attentive staff looking after your every whim. Do not think that all this loveliness comes with a price. In fact the only thing that I would change is the cost of each menu item. I would happily pay much more to eat here as would you. To sum up. Set your Sat Nav to AL6 9UB and enjoy.
