Dog friendly pub with lovely staff. Food wasn't great and we waited over half an hour for it. Hanging kebab was tasteless, fish very oily. The beer and chips we enjoyed the most. However we enjoyed our time there.
Recommended by our holiday accommodation, The Coach and Horses did not disappoint.
The interior is genuinely welcoming, unpretentious and clean.
We sampled a sharing starter and were impressed by both the quality and cost to the point of booking for the following evening.
Again all was good on the food front, supported by helpful attentive staff.
Overall the C & H seems to have got it right
First time here. Friendly cute pub. Food on offer was varied and to suit all tastes. I went for the Hanging Kebab. Salmon with a sizzling platter of vegetables. Plus flat bread and chips. Very big portion size. Very good value for money.
Had a lovely meal , steak pie and a chicken kebab , great value. Three different real ales available. Great friendly service. One we will definitely return too
Doesn't look much from the outside but when you go in it's a lovely place, super people and marvelous food! Dog friendly as well. The side of chips can feed a small family so the portion sizes are very good! 🤣
What a lovely evening we had here. A real local, but so welcoming to visitors. The service and attentiveness from the gentleman behind the bar was lovely, the choice of drinks local and well thought through, the food delicious. We loved the way the pub is furnished - the armchairs in the main area, the light hearted dining room. And fantastic value for money. And I loved the dog!
Super dog friendly, giving loads of fuss. Tried something different with the hanging kebabs and really enjoyed it! Great value

Fantastic food and very friendly and welcoming. We had a bit of trouble trying to organise some transport and the landlady couldn’t have been more helpful. Wish we lived nearer!!

A fabulous pub with great food and a wide selection of beers. The hosts were superb; extremely friendly - nothing was too much trouble, whilst the menu was wide and varied, all backed up by a high level of service. The effort the owners invest in making this pub stand out was clear to see and they deserve every success. Highly recommended

Food is great. I had a burger, my wife had a curry and kids had chicken nuggets and a cheese burger.
Will definitely be returning.
Lovely village pub with nice food. It's all nice and clean and airy. The Landlord and Landlady are helpful and friendly and you can take your welbehaved pooch as well.
Excellent choice of creative veggie and vegan food. Pie was very tasty. Vegan fish also good (tho not very fishy). Attentive service. Cute baby whippet on site. Attractive atmosphere. Reasonable prices.
Yesterday we went to the Coach and Horses in Welwick for a Sunday Roast lunch. The pub was clean and nicely decorated and the service was superb. Our meal was out of this world, Stephanie had the turkey roast with about six veg and Yorkshire pudding, I had the prawn curry with great chips. We then had a huge slice of chocolate fudge cake and ice cream between us . With drinks and coffee to finish - I could believe the bill and asked if they could check nothing had been omitted. A great experience, we will return.
Nice local, good atmosphere, friendly owners. Had food here a number of times and can’t fault it, recommend home made pies if they are available. Had a ‘pig dinner’ last time I was in but to be honest was a little disappointed by the quality of the pork. Stick to pie and mash/chips and you can’t go wrong! Curry good also.
Just been here for food and drinks, it is a lovely pub. Great staff who love dogs. They couldn't be more helpful. The food was delicious. I would definitely recommend and if we lived near here, we would be back again in a heart beat... ❤️
