Since it's open I think I've been going every week! Good to see different types of food and cakes that are fresh and break away from the norm. Definitely recommend the food and they are generous portions. Lovely atmosphere and is great to have a welcoming cafe for all; babies, kids and dogs!

Me and my partner popped in today and both had the most amazing American style pancakes, with bacon and maple syrup. Well worth a visit. We will be back

What a great find! Excellent coffee and Tutti-Frutti cake in a lovely space with the friendliest people. And very family and dog friendly too. A very special corner of Wells, just of Queens Road, on the way to the Bus station. Looking forward to future visits and wishing everyone at Loaf great success.

Just bought some of your delicious bread - OMG it tastes as amazing as it looks and sounds! Still slightly warm, with a crunchy crust and light and soft inside. I chose the wholemeal with cumin, coriander, fennel and other yummy things - I am just sitting here back at home eating a slice on its own! Well done - I will be back for more soon! :-)

Great coffee, delicious cinnamon bun and frangipane slice. We didn't try the lunch menu, but if we ever visit Wells in the future we would definitley go to Loaf again. My only moan would be the cafe felt slightly cramped. Overall execellent cafe and I would highly recommend.

This place has such a lovely vibe. Even if you aren't stopping for food, definitely pop in for a takeaway coffee and browse their cute little shop. I ordered the sweet potato hash for brunch, and whilst the flavpirs were all 💯, the portion size just didn't cut it 👎 £11.50 for a hash that left me hungry when the full English was £2 more 🙃 I didn't voice concerns on the day (was out with friends and didn't want to be THAT person), but when I tagged Loaf on a story they instantly responded wanting to rectify the issue. Good service means a lot, so I would definitely still recommend going. Just speak up if the portion doesn't seem fair - I wish I had! 🤍 Food: 4/5 Service: 4.7/5 Setting: 5/5 The order: Sweet Potato Hash - £11.50 📅 Visited in April 2023

Great place for cycling groups. We were really well looked after having just cycled 35 miles. Fantastic cake selection and lovely Lattes, Flat whites and Pots of tea! Blimey we ate loads! Ideal for getting back across the Mendips. The bikes are very safe as you can keep an eye on them while you are sat down. Really friendly staff and we were made to feel very welcome. Thank you so much for having us!

If you used to look good food and coffee... but now you have a 2 year old, this is the place for you! We had a full English, with some extra sides, & French toast. Portions were great for 2.5 people. Food was delicious, great coffee, and the toddler was entertained by the little play house. She had a meltdown when mummy went to the toilet and the staff offered me some chocolate brownie to cheer her up! Felt so warm and welcoming. It did get really busy, especially for a Monday morning so go early.

Nice little cafe tucked away in Wells. Had a nice coffee and chai latte. Carrot cake was tasty and the sausage roll excellent (mostly sausage and only a little roll). It's got outside seating as well as inside where there is a small child's play area. Seemed well supported by locals. Would use again.

We dropped into Loaf looking for some late afternoon food on a wet Sunday. Placed in a courtyard next to public parking its well located for easy access to the town (or should it be city) centre, but set back enough to not be slightly off the busy high street. In the courtyard there is seating available should the weather permit, otherwise there is ample seating inside with a child’s play area in the corner to keep the kiddo’s entertained. The menu is mainly breakfast and brunch based, with a selection of coffee, teas and soft drinks to choose from. If brunch or breakfast isn’t your thing then there is an array of cakes to choose from. We had two breakfast, one big and the other biggest (I think that was the name). The quality of ingredients was very good, excellent bacon, eggs, mushroom and sourdough bread. At very tasty artisan breakfast! The staff were great too. The chap manning the till was very welcoming and friendly, when he served our food he commented that if the eggs were done more than we prefer to let him know and they’ll change them... a lovely gesture. Definitely worth a visit, we’ll be back next time we are in Wells 👍
