Day out in Wells today! Popped in for lunch. Superb welcome from the staff, good beer, food was lovely, World Cup on the tv (but not overpowering). Very child friendly (we didn’t have ours) and I’ve never seen so many dogs in a pub with their owners! (a dog friendly pub is a Triple A for us!)

I really loved my fish and chips the other day. I will be eating here again. And we had cheesy chips they were very nice, better than anywhere else. My partner had a burger and it was lovely and juicy. Then we shared desert. I think it was a chocolate and cookie cheese cake with a raspberry coule. Thank you for a lovely dinner

Stayed there for one night. The room was really nice. Ate elsewhere so can't comment on food. Bar was friendly and staff were helpful. Public pay & display carpark was less than 5 minutes walk away. If I go to Wells again, I'll certainly stay at City Arms. Room 3.

Although we don’t too far away this was our first visit. The welcome was excellent from both staff and customers. The decor is good and the ambience was welcoming and busy. The fantastic duo Little Secrets played and all in all it was a great night. We are planning to stay overnight very soon.

Fantastic! Went on Mother's Day! Told they were fully booked, until the landlady over heard us and suggested we could out some tables together on he roof terrace so we did! Lovely weather! Food was great :) not to pricey, drinks were good value as well! Will be back in the future!

I only called in for a drink but I thought it was a lovely place. Good selection of drinks and helpful staff. The City Arms is a beautiful old building, which was once a gaol. Would definitely go back if I was in the area again.

Very oldie worldly pub that steeps in history. Sat outside in the lovely cosy courtyard drinking a fine locally brewed real ale. Staff helpful and friendly, good typical pub grub on the menu catering for all tastes and preferences.

Great pub for a drink and chat after a meal at a local Greek restaurant. Landlady (?) did an admirable job of dealing with a passing troublemaker.

Nice old pub with great atmosphere, good selection of wines and beers. Great food and 8 can recommend the fish and chips. The staff are friendly and attentive, if like the sun I recommend sitting on the upstairs outside terrace as it's a real sun trap.

A secret gem in the middle of Wells. Plenty of room if you go through the bar. Very cool considering the heat wave. Very friendly staff. The food was very tasty, good portions and excellent value for money.

Really lovely pub, we stayed for the night and the room was beautiful with exposed beams, really comfortable bed and great shower. The courtyard is ace, loads of flowers and a great atmosphere. Right in the centre of the city too. We'll definitely be back

Comfortable and relaxing place to enjoy a good range of real ales. Quiet. Glass of red wine was not so good as perhaps the bottle had been open for a while. Friendly place.
