Decided to have a meal here following a conversation with Cara. We all have different food in tolerances so eating as a family of 5 can be quite tricky! Cara could not have been more accommodating and understanding. We booked a table and we're lucky enough to have a window table. We had a fantastic meal which is normally a very difficult thing. An 8 year old, a vegetarian, 2 that can't eat dairy or wheat and a normal eater!!! Thank you so much for looking after us and for a wonderful meal! Definitely will be eating at Sands again xx

Nipped uptown for fish n chips, ended up on the off chance in here. Outstanding food and service. Four tables have window seat views of the harbour and out to sea. There are five tables of four down the walled side which they call the beach huts - great idea, all five are enclosed on three sides and covered to look like a hut. The one and only server had all tables under control, and was efficient and pleasant throughout. The black pudding mash is a great idea in itself, but to serve it to look like a jacket potato is genius. Congratulations to the sous chef (we asked!) Home made sticky toffee pudding was (apparently, I didn't get to share) fantastic. Great find, and very highly recommended. Thanks, Mick n Shona

Loved it, great food and great views of Wells harbour. The staff were very friendly and nice. The restaurant has been redecorated and looks great. Have eaten there twice in the last two weeks and will be there again.

Nice sea bass, friendly service great view, easy to book online for a window table. Only slight negative the bulb in lamp over table was a bit harsh for me. Oh and best Irish coffee I've had for ever 🙂

Booked online had a lovely person call me back to apologies for the booking didn't go through. She confirmed I had a table no problem. The restaurant is located on the front of the quayside. Gorgeous atmosphere and location. Service is friendly yet professional. Reasonable prices but exceptional quality made food. Some specials and excellent menu. Well presented. Great view of the bay and the beach. Would recommend to anyone if you don't fancy a local pub for food.

Nice views from the restaurant but was a little disappointed with the service and food. I can’t fault the man who was serving us as I think he was on his own and it was fairly busy. We waited nearly 45mins for food and the drinks were slow. Food was okay, my boyfriend enjoyed his burger but my coleslaw and calamari were a little bland. We had visited from the midlands so a little disappointed to have had experienced not so great a restaurant but the crab looked amazing on the menu and from what someone else ordered so I believe if you come on the right day it would be a great restaurant with good service and food.

Lovely restaurant just across from Wells Harbour. We were looking for a spot to have lunch and this restaurant was excellent. Friendly host who greeted us and gave us an excellent table by the window overlooking the harbour with a lovely view. Food was excellent, very tasty and amazing value for money. Would recommend and return.

Very good fish and chips and not greasy. A pity you do not offer garden peas instead of mushy peas. Very pleased to see no dogs upstairs where we were eating. This is due to allergy.

It was recommended by a local to eat here as we wanted a proper seafood experience. Went at 7pm without any booking. most of the tables are reserved and people are coming mostly at 8pm in groups. Internet was slow and couldnt connect to it. Weve chosen our seats to have privacy. Ordered seabass but The fishpie and garlic bread with cheese was the best for me! they have beers to if you wanna have fish and chips butbi didnt ordered and did not take any risk as i have seen most of their fish is served toasted. Thank u 4/5.🐠😍🐟

I visited Sands for dinner with my wife when staying in the area. The dining area is on the first floor, with views across Wells-next-the-Sea harbour, especially if you are lucky to be seated at a table by a window. The menu is not overly large, but I prefer a restaurant with a smaller number of dishes cooked well. They also offered two starters and four mains as specials. We had an enjoyable evening, the staff were polite and friendly and the food was very nice and good value.

Huge variety of fresh seafood, deliciously prepared at overall fair prices. Great view from the window seats as the restaurant is on the 1st floor, but your need likely to reserve a table if you want to sit at the window in the evening.

Really good view, service and nice food. Slightly pricey for the quality but I think what you'd expect for how tourist central Wells is in the area. I had the burger, kids had pasta, wife had Scampi and chips and all were grand!

Fantastic fresh sea food. I loved it. But the service was a bit slow even though it wasn’t busy. We waited 15mins to get the bill. In the end, we had to go and pay it. They didn’t even apologise. That’s a shame: they have such good food, but the service..

Still return and still can't fault this place! Highly recommended! Wonderful New Year's dinner 2019 and the best view in Wells! Seriously can not fault this place, December 2018 amazing dinner of venison had by all! Great meal mid Sept 2018. Again, good meal had by all, August 2018 - Can not fault this place July 2018. Now a five, amazing meal had by all June 2018! Good food for the money and best view in town! Very clean and you can get a Fab crab salad. Perhaps more vegetarian options would be appreciated. Well done!

Decent place for seafood. One end of the restaurant has a sea view, though all those tables were reserved. Each table has hand sanitiser. But the restaurant was a bit stuffy with no windows open.
