Dog friendly and people friendly 😁.
Lovely lunch of perfectly cooked
Sea Bream with crispy skin on a tomato risotto. My wife had fresh mussels in a white wine sauce, all delicious. Service was good, prices reasonable and a pleasant, relaxing ambiance. Highly recommended.
My son and I chose 'Bang' for a shared breakfast before he moves to Finland; he grew up in Wells so this was a farewell-for-a-while visit. I have a holiday cottage in Wells and recommend it to my guests too. Only good reports so far and we enjoyed our breakfast; lovely coffee.
A lovely place to stop for some delicious seafood. Dog friendly and vibrant this place is well worth a trip. The mussels and prawns were excellent and the staff were curtious and quick. We were there at the end of the day and still received their full attention.
Stayed here for a short overnight weekend break.
Stayed in the "Attic Suite", great space to stay in and relax if it's raining heavily... which it was.
Lovely welcome and showed to our room, good room facilities, milk in your own fridge, tea, coffee, biscuits and lounge area.
Great sized bed and loved the fact that there's lots of different levels in the Attic Suite.
Having an open plan ensuite in the bedroom made for some planning, you'll see what I mean, but that was a minor inconvenience.
Whatever height you are, there are low points to hit your head on, you have been warned!
There was a good menu with lots to choose from and the food was delicious. Breakfast was generous and really nice coffee.
Nice little touch to a table reservation was a small notice on the table with the room name on.
Perfectly situated near bars, restaurants and shops with a short walk to the quay.
If you know Wells then you'll understand parking in Wells is always hectic, especially in high season. We parked outside the "Nisa Local" just across the street from Bang in Wells to unload our bags, then moved the car to more suitable parking.
Thanks for a great stay, we will definitely be back.
Really friendly and welcoming staff. Top quality food and beautiful rooms 10/10 will definitely stay again. Well done!
Five of us stopped for breakfast and have been here before during our holidays. The food was generally good (decent portions too) but my daughter’s pancakes were overcooked unfortunately - a little burnt. She still chomped through most of them so it didn’t worry her too much! I would still recommend the restaurant but as there’s so much choice in the local area, we will probably try somewhere else in the future.
Had breakfast here over the last 3 days.
Great service and the food was excellent.
Booking recommended and you won't be disappointed.
Lunch with friends, excellent. Food amazing. Our waitress today was perfect, service was excellent. Will be back when next in UK.
Bang in Wells Next the Sea is a dog-friendly bistro offering a splendid selection of seafood. The menu blends traditional English dishes with several European and Asian alternatives, such as paella and curry, and includes a daily catch of fish.
The beverage options were excellent, especially the wine and the guest ale.
The service was friendly, and the food was promptly prepared and served. However, we felt somewhat neglected as the restaurant was preparing for a busy Thursday evening during our visit from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Consequently, the dessert options were limited to ice cream, as the kitchen was gearing up for the evening rush. The staff missed opportunities to offer hot drinks at the end of the meal.
The burger was quite enjoyable, albeit slightly overcooked and dry. This tendency to prepare beef well done by default seems common in the area.
The fish and chips were also tasty, but don't expect the portion size of a typical fish and chip shop.
The side salads were flavorful and fresh.
Our 8-year-old son thoroughly enjoyed his seafood platter, with his only comment being that it was a bit salty. Nonetheless, this didn't prevent him from finishing the entire plate.
In conclusion, we had a pleasant meal, but it didn't leave us thoroughly impressed, and we departed with a slight sense of disappointment.
Awesome little gem of a restaurant, great service, we had the flat iron steak which was perfect and their panko coated fish and chips. All really good. Definitely recommend and will be back if I'm ever in town again. *****
Enjoyed a well cooked and quality breakfast here. Nice vibe to the place.
Had a lovely meal and staff were friendly and initially found us a table as we had not booked, food arrived with a short wait and was very good. Unfortunately once we had eaten our main course, we had trouble attracting attention of waiting staff both to order additional drinks and for desert. The table was not cleared and we gave up on ordering deserts and decided to leave as we had been waiting for some time. We had to wait a considerable amount of time to attract attention to ask for the bill and then again for the bill to arrive. I accept that the restaurant was busy but overall I felt the service let the venue down I am afraid.
Came for lunch with our dog after a long walk on the beach. Food was incredible and setting was nice - sitting in the courtyard on a sunny day 😍
Great little spot. They managed to squeeze 8 of us in without a reservation on Sat for lunch. Everyone's dishes were fab (Mac N Cheese, smoked mackerel, mussels.) The star of the show in their Bloody Mary! Can't wait to go back and try more from their menu!
We came here for a group dinner. Service was good - despite it being busy, they managed to find us a space by the window where we could keep an eye on our bikes outside. The food was excellent but a little pricey and smaller portions than we were expecting, though it was well presented. There's a nice buzzing atmosphere, with vibrant colourful decor and has a winebar/restaurant feel - there's also a small intimate outdoor seating area around the back.
Fantastic food, great service. Lovely staff
Excellent evening meal. Good value for money. Lovely and warm by the fire. Friendly staff.
