Sooo friendly and the food is wonderful. I'm lactose intolerant so to find an entire and very tasty menu for me to choose from was a very unusual and welcome find. The chef even adapted a potato dish for me too. Thank you!

Visited The Stag for an early evening dinner on Saturday, there’s was six of us although, two were under four, we found both the service and the food to be excellent, definitely recommend The Stag to friends and colleagues.

Went to the stags head last night with my dad and sister. I have been there a few times now and always have a lovely meal, friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. My dad wanted a red bull and the girl behind the bar didn't think she had any but insisted she went down the cellar to check for him. He was very happpy when she came back with some. Would highly recommend the stags head its one of my favourite places to eat, it doesn't matter who is working on my visits they are also nice.

We held a private function here recently. The staff were very professional from start to finish. The food was great, the room was perfect (well kept and decorated) and the outdoor area is brilliant for guests who smoke but still want to be part of the party. I would highly recommend this venue as a perfect old English country pub.
Whether it be the baked potato with tuna or the lamb shank, the food was top notch, great beer, the reception and service was excellent, lots of smiles from the staff on hand,very relaxing, will definitely visit again, and very soon.
When I am in the area I always make it a point to enjoy the Pub. The special are always great as well as the staff. And I never miss my pint of Black Sheep bitter!

Three of us visited twice over the weekend of 7th/8th Jan. Atmosphere lovely, friendly staff and excellent food. Thoroughly recommend. Oh and the outside flower displays always look fantastic!
Planning a wake for a much loved family member is a struggle . We chose the Stags Head for its handy location and its excellent reputation . Kelly, our event organizer made the whole planning process as warm and easy as it could be. Kudos to her and the professional approach taken by all staff members. We know our upcoming gathering of friends and family will be well cared for. Additionally, the meal we had that evening was first rate and thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Lovely old pub. Spacious and well kept. Great food, served up in good time. Friendly, smart, professional staff, and different dietary requirements well catered for with a delicious Gluten & Dairy free menu. Definately worth the drive from Berkhamsted to meet relatives. Plenty of parking too. Hope to visit again soon and try some other dishes.
What a wonderful Sunday lunch experience! The staff couldn't have been more welcoming. Every single member of staff was helpful, smiley and just absolutely lovely. They were also really attentive and fun with my 8 year old daughter despite being busy with some big parties. Due to one of our party having a dairy allergy, they double checked with the chef what she could safely eat. This was greatly appreciated.
The food was reasonably priced and delicious. The brownie was incredible. Thank you! It's been a long time since we had such first class service.
We found ourselves at The Stag's Head in Great Doddington last Sunday and what a delightful experience it was.
My wife and I indulged in the Sunday roasts - I savored the roast pork with crispy crackling while she enjoyed a tender roast turkey. The roasts were accompanied by a selection of fresh vegetables, homemade stuffing, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, and a bowl of rich, flavorful gravy. The kids weren’t left behind; they happily tucked into their pizzas from a kid-friendly menu.
The attentive and friendly service added to the warm ambiance of this old-style, character-filled building. It's the kind of place where every corner has a story to tell.
We wholeheartedly recommend The Stag’s Head to anyone in the Wellingborough, Northamptonshire area. It's a place where good food and friendly faces await. We're already looking forward to our next visit!
Lived in the area a few years now always wanted to try this pub for a meal with my wife and we finally got around to going lovely food staff very friendly will be going back very soon highly recommend.
Easy to find on the main road through, and on the corner. The postcode via sat nav didn't take us straight there, but stay on the road..
Plenty of parking.
Dogs welcome.
A bar area , although it's mainly eating areas with tables.
The food was nice and came out with rocket speed.
Nice restaurant decor.
My only criticism would be the attentiveness of the staff.
Our drinks order was forgotten.
Our sauces were forgotten.
Then the wrong sauce arrived.
We seemed to be served by 4 different people.... maybe have the same person serving the same table, then things wouldn't get forgotten!!!

The Pub itself is a piece of art,lovely staf, garden, street view, big car park, lovely design inside. I didn't try the food, but i heard it is delicious. Staff are very friendly and helpful . Great variety of lagers and beers, local beers, and other soft drinks . Inside on a very hot day is like an oasis in the desert, thanks to the air conditioning. Super place to dine. Couldn't fault anything. Good choice of food with something for everyone. The portions are good and the prices are very reasonable.

Firstly it was a Sunday afternoon quite late, hence why atmosphere was 3.
The food was absolutely banging, good price too. Quick service and food was hot as in just out of the oven hot.
Great place for a family Sunday lunch, also place is very dog friendly.
Sit in the garden to soak up some rays on the pallet made sofas is a good touch.

We held Dad's wake at the pub recently. From the moment we made contact to book a table to the moment we left we were treated professionally and compassionately. The service was great and the food was delicious, everyone enjoyed Dad's favourite meal of fish and chips. How on earth you managed to serve 16 portions at the same time I'll never know - well done! Thank you very much for making a very difficult situation a little easier.

Took my mother in law here for lunch in celebration of her 60th wedding anniversary. Friendly staff and lovely food. Two people I work with are going to try it out this weekend after singing it's praise's.
Went for a birthday dinner with a large group. Amazing roast dinner, lovely decor and friendly staff. Highly recommend.

ALL ROUND AMAZING!!! Have driven past many a time and always said we'd visit but never have. Spontaneously decided to try out their Sunday roast a few days ago and the whole experience was just phenomenal! Staff were so lovely (especially the slim lady with dark blackish hair). The place looked fabulous inside and the food...the food was SO GOOD! Best Yorkshire puds we may have ever had. Meat was melt in your mouth. Root veggied were awesome. Will 100% be returning!
Beautiful restaurant and decor. Although my food was nice, my colleagues were not happy so I am rating this as a whole experience when it comes to the food
