Went for a pub lunch today with friends & unfortunately wasn’t as good as our last meal there in May. Having mentioned on several occasions I’m a vegan and with little choice i had the 3 bean burger and requested without cheese - but the dish came with cheese, so had to return and wait for a new meal. With little apology, it was a disappointment.
Following this review - the Manager called and invited my husband and I to try their new vegan menu.
This was a great delight - all dishes went down extremely well and my husband, whom is not vegan thoroughly enjoyed the dishes.
The Duke has done a grand job, so much so, we will be returning very soon with family in tow. Thank you so much, I now have a place to eat and feel assured my vegan diet is met.
As promised I will be putting a recommendation on Viva FB too.
The Christmas Party menu food is highly recommended: the best turkey dinner I've eaten out at a Christmas party. Beautiful presentation, delicious food and top service. Well done to the staff!
We came last night for ‘Mums night out’ and although I have been recommended this numerous times, this was my first visit. I cannot recommend this place enough, food was amazing, service was impeccable and atmosphere perfect. Now to convince the hubby to have my 40th here in the barn next year �
Last night we ate at the Duke for the first time with some friends. The dining room décor is beautiful, the staff were delightful and the meal was delicious, we would recommend this restaurant to anyone, it was perfect.

Staff all lovely & super helpful. Clean & well kept with lovely seating areas inside & out, large one overlooks the church. Food was outstanding & great menu. It was lovely to have a mini specials board delivered to the table to save having to search for it!! I'd highly recommend. Plenty of car parking in large car park at rear.

What a superb Mother's Day meal. This was our first visit. You never really know what to expect when you're visiting a pub for the first time, especially for a meal. We couldn't have been more impressed with the quality of the food and the service. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful, and the meals were delicious. An absolute bargain special Mother's Day special menu too! We'll definitely be back.

First visit to the Duke of Wellington. We will definitely be returning. The food was excellent. Service was outstanding. I would highly recommend a visit. I found the Duke of Wellington a peaceful place to visit. Lots of outside seating areas if you visit on a beautiful sunny day. Very impressed. 5 stars
First time visiting as having lunch on a Sunday with my wife Niece and her fiance who are having the reception here next week. We pre booked a table and it was ready on our arrival. The staff where all vey pleasant and happy to assist with everyone smiling and polite.
The food came quicker than expected and all 4 of us enjoyed our meals and agreed the food was excellent. Had to have a dessert and again arrived quickly and very pleasant. We all had a great time in a great atmosphere and setting. This is a place I would definitely drive out to again and am really looking forward to being there for the reception next year.

I must say from the start that this is a really lovely place to go for a meal.
The interior has a good atmosphere, and when I went there it was reasonably busy which was a good sign. The service was really good, we requested an item be taken off the plate after the food had been served, this was done quickly and without fuss.
I enjoyed every morsel in front of me and paid the bill without any qualms.
I will be back for dessert soon!
The only things missing were a "D" and an "I"
Michael went above and beyond and gave great hospitality especially as we had travelled from Staffordshire he gave us a first star experience of down south. Always a smile and a giggle. Will definitely come here again. The food was stunning. The price was fair and good hygiene as I hate a messy table !!! Kind Regards Vienna.
Mid week pub lunch, lovely pub with nice food. Plenty of seating indoors or out. Friendly, helpful staff.
Fantastic pub in rural Northamptonshire. Food was of excellent quality, as too was the service we received.
Nice decor, felt clean inside. No sticky tables or floors which is always a good sign. Staff wearing masks
No ATM nearby so remember to get cash out before you come!
First return after a long >2 year gap due to previous poor service and high pricing.
This experience was excellent, starters & mains for 3 people all very good, tried the ox-cheek, lamb pie and slow-roast belly pork, won’t tell you the best one as may not be any for me next time, 😂.
Can assure you ALL were very good, decent portions and value for money.
👏👏👏 to the chef especially, service from staff was very good too.
Won’t be long before we return again, well done all 👍👏👏
Absolutely lovely meal ... the rib eye steak was cooked to perfection, front of house staff were extremely friendly and attentive and the restaurant was busy for a Thursday evening which is always a very good sign that you're in a good restaurant. Had a very nice time thank you.

We hired the barn for a night. It was amazing. The atmosphere that place creates is brilliant for any party. We also ordered a lot of food! Too much in hindsight, but the staff were incredible and helped us pack it up for our guests. It was delicious! Highly recommend the food. The staff were attentive, friendly, even enjoying a joke or two. Can't rate you all high enough.
What a TARDIS this pub / restaurant is! I've only ever parked at the front and used the front bar, tonight I parked in the rear carpark... wow!
Three of us - my only.comment is that our round was 50% dearer than the previous pub.
Still. We will return. Lovely pub.
Great food and ambience. Lovely setting inside the restaurant.
Only thing that we experienced in a negative way was that it took a while for someone to notice that we were waiting at the bar in order to get taken to our reserved table. We saw lots of activity whereby staff were rushing drinks to the tables but no-one stopped to ask if we were being served until a little while later when a member of staff asked us when carrying some empty glasses on the way to the bar.
Also, during our meal, we waiting for quite a while to get our dessert menu one we finished our mains. Then it took a while for us to get the bill. We had to ask for it twice, think we got forgotten in the corner.
Other than that, we were happy with the food but hope that the service will not be so slow on our next visit.
Really great place to eat. Good choice of food. The food was very good quality, presented well and tasted great. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere. Will definitely return.

We visited the Duke of Wellington for the first time in the 16th September as a family to share 3 separate birthday celebrations 😊
We were greeted by such lovely and friendly staff from start to finish. There was a great atmosphere, the food was so delicious and well presented. Scott always is friendly and attentive and kept us informed of the wait for our food. The restaurant was busy so there was a bit of a wait but the amazing food was worth the wait. Gail was so friendly and helpful as well and especially accommodating when I got out the birthday cakes to take to our table, plus she provided goody bags. Nothing was a hassle.
Such a good vibe, experience, amazing food and so lovely to spend time with family😊The only downside was the parking situation but that was also more down to visitors not parking within the lines, which took up more room and made it difficult to park up and get out.
The food was good value for what you good as it was presented well and talkers delicious.
Would go again and recommend it. Thank you 😊
Went for dinner with the family. Amazing atmosphere. Food was really good too. While its a Pub it doesn't feel that way. Lovely outdoor seating area too.
