Really good food and plenty of options. Excellent portions. Nice to have a full menu and carvery option.
Nice to have a mini kids area.
If could have more stuff in their for kids it would be better but overall really satisfied.
Staff where interactive with kids and friendly.
We go every week to The Chestnut Tree on a Wednesday, we get there about 12.45pm and normally the carvery is very nice.
But this Wednesday it was very dissapointing.
My friend who never complains couldn't eat the meal.
The roast potatoes were so hard you couldn't even cut them.
None of the vegetables were fresh! So we left most of it.
We had a pudding that was delicious.
Perhaps because we are older we expect a nice roast but unfortunately this was far from nice.
The waitress serving the food was very miserable but the waitress behind the bar was lovely.
We did receive £2.60 off our meal .
On arrival the pub was busy, with a nice relaxed atmosphere, filled with lots of families. There were enough staff being served was quick. The food was lovely and good selection to choose from and really tasty.. The waitresses were lovely. The only tiny downside is the food could have come out quicker. We will be visiting again
I went in today, and I received amazing costumer service from one of the waitresses called Madison. She made sure that me and my family had a great time and checked up on us regularly and overall allowed us to have a great experience. I definitely recommend going here!!

Although only 2 Meats left on the carvery will still had a good meal. The Bar Staff were honest with me when I ordered. Sarah the Waitress who looked after us was very helpful and pleasant and couldn't do enough for us. She even sorted out Dessert when a couple of the ingredients were out. Would recommend.
This is a place of two halves. The staff are pleasant, the drinks are a decent price and they have good deals. Their carvery and desserts are very nice too.
However the main menu is a mixed bag. Portion size is quite small and when ordering a maxed mixed grill items were missing and the meat was over cooked. Their chips are very nice but £1.50 for 3 onion rings that didn't seem beer battered (and I only received 2) is a bit extortionate.
Stick to the Carvery and you won't be disappointed 😊
Me and my husband visited for a very rare lunch together. We had 30% voucher, so as we hadn't been for a while decided to try . We weren't disappointed, staff were friendly. Meals were very good. Will definitely be back.
Had a spur of the moment carvery tonight here and the only fault was the gravy was a little thin but that is my preference to have a thicker gravy. We had never been before but made very welcome. Everyone was friendly. There was plenty of room outside to sit and a play area for the kids to run around and play. Would definitely go again.
Booked a table online (very easy to do) welcomed quickly by friendly staff and escorted to our table with the request of by the window. Food arrived promptly and very enjoyable. Drinks served well chilled. Staff made sure we were enjoying our meal and if there were any problems not to hesitate in informing them.
Very enjoyable evening.
Really nice experience but the person who raised it to the next level was this lovely woman named Madison. She had a lovely attitude and catered to my every need, overall she just made my dining experience all the more better, 10/10 would eat here again
We usually come on a Sunday, but decided on a midweek treat this week. Came for a meal tonight, my husband always has a carvery. Which he said was exceptional tonight. My meal was also nice. A lovely girl called Sarah served us, very polite and helpful.
There was 3 in our party ….Carvery was amazing….. we ordered a meal of normal menu which took over half hour to come so I asked a young girl (she had plaits in her hair )to chase it up she was so professional & polite she came back with the meal & said we could have free desert …..this young lady is a credit to marstons some of the young are very rude but not this young lady …. We thanked her on our way out & on our next visit I hope we see her
Over the past few months I have visited several other establishments celebrating birthdays, anniversaries etc and can honestly say The Chestnut Tree was by far the best. From the time of entering we were made feel welcome by staff who were all polite and friendly. The carvery was amazing and I could not fault it one bit. My party of 10 people also enjoyed their food and commented how lovely the food, especially the meat was cooked. Our time slot was booked for 2 hours and although we ran a little over our time, we were not approached by staff to remind us of this. Our whole experience was very enjoyable and we will definately be returning.
Went here for a carvery today, was served at bar by Jodie, very smiley and provided very good customer service. The food was beautiful with plenty of choice. Would go again. Reasonable prices and great service from all staff.
Decent bit of scran just wished the carvery looked a little more appealing! Will for sure come back. Drinks a tab bit prices but also they did have that sweet sweet nectar of real sugar so I will let it lie 👍
