We came as a large cycling group on 31 October for lunch. We had preordered on Google Sheets - everyone was served within 10 minutes of arrival with drinks served at the table. We are occasional visitors and this is one of our best pubs for food quality and service. Can’t recommend it too highly.
After a five mile walk I was very glad to arrive back at the pub in Watton at Stone. A friendly welcome, and I enjoyed a tasty sandwich and a delightful chocolate sponge cake and ice cream dessert.
Really friendly experience , new Landlords have made a fast improvement to what was a declining pub. If we don’t support pubs making an effort to provide good service and good food they will disappear
We met Jill, who was an awesome barmaid. Made me and my boyfriend feel very welcome. We sat and had a drink with the landlord and lady. Helen and Mike were fantastic hosts. I will definitely be going back in the future xx
Food in there was amazing. Staff were great and people were friendly. First time in there having just moved to the area. Dog friendly also
Food was great, all freshly prepared and very reasonably priced. The new owners have really turned it around. Will definitely be back again

Great pub, nice atmosphere and not overpriced like some pubs in Hertford
Went with friends for lunch. Pub is dog friendly, good choice on menu which also offers small plates. We had fish and chips, ham egg and chips, homemade tomato soup. All excellent and very reasonable priced. Will certainly be going again.
Enjoyed the cosy surroundings and greatly improved décor. This is a pub that deserves to do well after a somewhat neglected previous existence.
We found our chosen meal of fish and chips excellent with the batter so light and crispy you would liken it to a tempora coating, and the triple cooked chip

Great Mothers Day Sunday Roast with my son and family. Food very tasty. Very nice thoughtful staff. New management. Lovely relaxing surroundings. Will be going back for sure. Trying their lunchtime menues next. Wishing them all the very best for the future.
A fantastic pub that has been recently renovated to a very high standard. Lovely beer and a good atmosphere, a proper village pub!
