The staff are so wonderful and friendly, beautiful pub amazing atmosphere the landlady is a sweetheart too, My favourite family friendly pub and great venue near Cassibury park. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Watford best pub, best service Janna
Lovely place to come and enjoy an evening meal. I used the online app to order and my food arrived quickly. Food tasted good too.
Went to a friends birthday here and the pub-supplied buffet was awesome. Not one Aldi dipper in sight. Hand made prawn sarnies in thick bread, black pepper chicken thingies but I can’t remember how many of those cheeky toad-in-the-hole bad boys I ate! Brilliant food by brilliant staff. Thank you!
Staff are very friendly, food prices are good and we all lived the grub! Been here a few times. Unfortunately we're moving do won't be visiting any more but thumbs up to all the staff.
Lovely food, welcoming staff, very clean and lots of open space. Very nice beer garden.
Sometimes it's really nice to put an audiobook on and enjoy a lovely Sunday roast.
Three courses for £15 and the food is really good so definitely worth.

After Reading some of the old reviews on Google we were a little bit reluctant to go to this pub. But having no other options nearby, we tried our luck after we just wanted a couple of pints 🍻. I am glad we did. The place is beautifully maintained from the outside with lots of flowers and ample of free parking. We were served quickly and bit of fun banter made us feel welcomed. Definitely will pop back soon. Cheers. M.
I booked the Essex Arms as a venue for my son’s baptism celebration! Food and drink choices were brilliant and everyone who attended really enjoyed it. The team decorated the the space, with the decorations, we had brought to the pub the night before - which helped us out a lot! The service and the team were amazing and helpful throughout the event. It’s a very nice venue to use for gatherings, and will definitely go back for any future events. Thank you once again Essex Arms Team for making the day really special!

The Essex arms is the best place ever. Food is fantastic and the staff are friendly and approachable. I spoke to a curly hair barmaid and she was very knowledgeable on the menu and the drinks list. Not sure what her name is however she works Tuesdays. I would highly recommend and will be returning.
Vegan Wellington was nice. We enjoyed a lovely sunday lunch here!
Arrived at a busy time of day and was greeted but a pleasant member of staff, ordered food and drinks expecting a wait for the food, food arrived in good time and was spot on, will definitely return.
And I feel we are supporting an industry that is struggling to fine good quality staff, but the Essex Arms management seems to have got it right, look forward to seeing you again.
I’ve got ribs chicken wings and chips and salad wasn’t what I expected. It was beyond what I expected. Absolutely beautiful. Thanks Essex arms really good staff also
