We had a very pleasant lunch at a reasonable price. The atmosphere and service were excellent. The new owners have stepped up to the plate with minimal changes, providing a first rate experience.
I came for a meal with my mum & brother after having recommendations from some of our neighbours.
The menu had a good choice of dishes plus there are specials listed separately. My brother & I ordered the chicken - me with dauphinoise & him with chips & my mum ordered the salmon with dauphinoise. It was all absolutely delicious. You also get a portion of veg between you which is very generous.
The staff were really friendly & attentive & it was a lovely atmosphere. You get the little extra touches like warm bread & water on the table to start.
It's the nicest meal I've had out for a good while & we'll definitely be back to try some different options from the menu (sadly none of us had room for dessert this time).
A real gem of a place & highly recommended!
We were just driving by around 6:00pm one Saturday and popped in to see if there was a table free, feeling confident we could be squeezed in.
But despite their best efforts we were out of luck!! A very popular place obviously however despite that, the menu looked good and we got a good impression of a nice vibe making us determined to make a booking to come back 🙂
Me and my husband came for valentines meal. It was absolutely delicious 😋 amazing food. Lovely service. All so lovely and friendly. Definitely will be back.
Superb food and friendly staff. Beautiful table settings with crisp white cloths. Very good value for great quality meals
We booked a table last night for a family meal out. The food and service were outstanding! All 6 of our dishes were amazing and the staff couldn’t have been any more helpful. Highly recommend!
We all enjoyed our lunch out. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly.
Lovely traditional, country pub. Small, but clean and fresh rooms. We had dinner and breakfast, both delicious. Very reasonably priced. All in, a very pleasant stay with great hosts who made you feel like it was a home from home.
Great accommodation, food was fantastic, really friendly, and a great little place to stay, would definitely stay here again.
I visited for lunch with my friend and it is a very welcoming place. The food was absolutely delicious and far superior to many places I have eaten.
It is situated in a lovely village and the surrounding countryside is lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
I highly recommend this place for food, but make sure to book,as it was busy when we visited(Wednesday lunchtime).
We’ve stayed in this area many times, but have never had the pleasure of staying at the Stapylton Arms. That is about to change. We booked for two nights Friday and Saturday and were part of a large party of 20 on the Friday evening for a celebration meal. I’m a vegetarian and wanted something very specific to eat, so I rang up to ask if it could be possible. Rob straight away said of course and I wasn’t disappointed with my choice. The food was to die for. It came out very quickly, well presented, piping hot and all together, which is no mean feat! The staff were excellent and so attentive, so much so, we decided to book again the following evening with a smaller party and the food and service was identical to the previous evening. Always a good sign.
The pub is in a lovely country village setting and is so friendly and warmly welcoming. Our room was very comfortable, spotlessly clean with really lovely extras such as homemade cookies, a cafetière with fresh coffee, really great touches. Breakfast on both mornings was outstanding and included homemade Lemon Curd. I can’t say enough about the Stapylton Arms only that we have booked in again for another two visits this and next year. Thank you, we’re so glad we visited.
Absolutely 💯. Had my first trip here and was excellent food. Well worth the hour drive. 👌
A beautiful pub, restaurant and B&B. A lovely 'home from home' with very friendly and welcoming staff. And the breakfast was delicious!
Lovely little village pub.The scampi was lovely and the fish and chips was huge. It was worth the travel. Make sure to book
Lovely welcoming pub serving great beer. Didn’t eat when we were there but the menu read well and the restaurant looked clean and stylish and had plenty of happy customers finishing their meal.
We were on the way to Helmsley from Boroughbridge and went via Thirsk and the white horse hill, decided to go off road and literally fell upon this delightful inn. We could see it was busy from the car park being full, but we took our chance and were greeted with a smile and are you ok to eat outside, which was our intention as it was a beautiful sunny day.
The menu was fab, so much variety, I opted for a king prawn dish with rich tomato sauce topped with melted cheese and my partner a seafood platter that was one of the specials.
Both meals were excellent.
We left very happy and this was a great start to our evening away, we should return in the near future, but it would be on sat nav as I don't think we would remember how to get there.
The venue, team, service, chef , menu and food all fabulous.
Get yourself booked in!
Absolutely brilliant pub/restaurant! Everything we ate was top notch. I made sure I tried everyones plate at the table as it was hard chosing only one starter and one main.
The olives for the table were exceptional... I went home, bought olives and eeewww!!!! Apparently I only like olives at The Stapylton Arms which is a bit of an issue as I live 4 hours away! But this probably goes to show the level of detail making sure every ingredient, including table garnishings are the best.
Stayed one night with dinner and breakfast. Food to a very high standard, inventive and really tasty. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. Lastly, it is so nice to stay somewhere where the staff are all so friendly and helpful.
A regular local haunt for us - consistently good quality and value. We know that if we take visitors or friends here we'll have a good time. Our last visit was for my wife's birthday plus our son visiting from the Netherlands, and it was as good as ever. I'm sure it'll be mentioned elsewhere but the Scampi is recommended by James Martin. Apparently this is his mum's favourite place and dish - and it is indeed very good, more of a tempura batter than usual, so quite light and doesn't overpower the shellfish. For this visit I had Pork in a gorgeous cream and blue cheese sauce which didn't disappoint followed by their take on a Lemon meringue which was lovely too. Yum. No doubt we'll be back soon.
