Honestly, this was the best experience at a pub I have ever had. Thank you to the friendly and knowledgeable Sam and brilliant menu options. I haven't been to many places where there are so many vegan mains and puddings but also they cater for non-vegans equally. Sam also knew without having to check which wines were vegan friendly. I would definitely visit again!

The Ferry Boat had us sailing away happy!
Weâll be honest, this wasnât our first choice. Weâd rang many places beforehand and nowhere we tried was serving food or wasn't even open. This was on a Monday mind, so we do appreciate it's one of the quieter days for restaurants, but there are still people who want to dine out on Mondays so thereâs a possible gap in the market there.
Moving on to The Ferry Boat, itâs a lovely venue that felt very welcoming. The staff were very friendly and the service was outstanding. Nothing was too much for them.
Now for what you're really here for and the food was just as good as the service. The starters were both light and freshly prepared and it was clear from the taste. If weâre honest, they werenât exactly show stoppers, but very nice basic plates to ease us in.
On to the main events, and we were thoroughly impressed when both plates arrived. The pie was divine! Stuffed to the top with succulent chunks of steak in a rich vegetable-filled gravy paired with delicious mash and summer greens, this was a hearty dish full of flavour.
And now the burger. Itâs safe to say itâs a good one! As pub burgers go, itâs one of the best weâve tried. Itâs as simple as that. Want to know why? Go and try one out and youâll see what we mean. Itâs just flawless in our opinion.
The same goes for the entire evening at The Ferry Boat. We highly recommend you give them a visit and they've even a car park too so you really have no excuses not to check them out.
Not a bad little pub, was a scooter event when we went and great load of friendly people had some good chats. Beer expensive but about average for village pubs. Didn't try the food as one of the locals recommended the corner kebab shop. Said it cheaper and more for your money so we did that. Have to take locals advice as they should know. One thing put me off was attitude from a few locals who seemed annoyed the car park was full of scooterists. Well what I could see was for every car and 2 people you got 4 or 5 scooterists and they put more in the bar cash till than they did, enjoyed the lads gathering and enquired about next one so we could go there. Will enjoy that much better than sitting on bar stool. Lol

Great little dog friendly pub. Atmosphere was good, the staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was really tasty. Proper pub grub with a high end feel and taste to it. Perfect place to stop for a rest after a walk along the river.
Quite probably the best family friendly food pub for miles around. Staff are so helpful, very accommodating and the food is always fantastic. Good selection of ales and beers, wine menu with a decent selection too! What are you waiting for?
Lovely impromptu meal out for my husbands birthday. The staff were lovely and polite and very accommodating with regards my son who is autistic and particular about what foods he will and will not eat. My husband had the steak, I had a chicken pie and my son had the cheeseburger with an alternative to the chips.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting and when a table of lovely older gentlemen started singing, they were asked if they would sing Happy Birthday to my husband and they obliged. The perfect end to a lovely evening. Will definitely come back for another visit.
Fantastic food. Excellent friendly service. Good range of drinks. Had an amazing meal there and a damn good laugh with the bar staff as well. Canât wait to return
Great find. Lovely looking pub, with character, good food and a pool table. We were rubbish at the pool, but it added some fun. The guy serving behind the bar was experienced and social. We hope to go again soon.
The food has always been good and the staff helpful.
Good sized car park and an enclosed beer garden, ideal for dogs and small wandering children. The pub is also dog friendly inside. They have regular quiz nights and live music!
A patio area has recently been updated, with more tables and chairs. An easy access ramp and door is almost completed, for those who may need it.
And I've been told that more improvements are on the way!
We used the app. Drinks were quick although when requested for no ice it came with ice.
The food was very nice and it came very quickly.
If you are stopping off for a change over like we were I would definitely recommend.

Very friendly publican. Good food. Old pub. Name came as a 17th century publican run a ferry service across the river. River now changed course. Would return if in the area.
Used their function room for a wake, catering was wonderful and suited our small group <25. Definitely worth the consideration.
My husband and I held our wedding reception here yesterday and we couldn't be happier with the service we received.
We were massively let down by another local venue who cancelled our reception 3 weeks before our wedding day.
Sam and her team were fantastic and went above and beyond to ensure our special day went ahead without a hitch and that we had everything we needed.
