Can't comment on the rooms/hotel as only popped in for a few pints and some food on a Sunday evening. Bar-service was great and everyone behind the jump was friendly and helpful. It's a Holt's and that is reflected in the selection of drinks, which isn't necessarily a bad thing! There is a decent menu (I had the lasagne, which was very nice indeed), including special deals. Though, there is possibly better way (a bell?) to get the food from the kitchen to the floor than that old shout of "Service!" ("yes, Chef!"). Some tables out front, or a quieter beer garden at the back. Plenty of space inside, too, with some screens for sports, but they're not too intrusive. This is the kind of village inn/pub every village should have!

Came in for breakfast as we were passing. First thing to point out is the red haired girl with braces on the bar, she really shouldn't be working in customer service or she desperately needs more training! Robotic and unhelpful. Refused to swap out black pudding and beans on breakfast for a few extra mushrooms which we found strange, never have issues anywhere else. Experience after that was great, breakfast food all tasted lovely, compliments to the chef. Would consider returning if the staff were more accommodating for the customers.

Food was lovely and fresh, place was very clean and tidy. Upon entering we were welcomed and took our order at the bar, food arrived quickly, we made a change to our order which was no hassle. Loads of space and no reservations required. Mixed grill was cooked perfectly and curry was also delicious. Ontop kids ice cream was very good portion. Hope to visit again soon

The pub next door had nice friendly staff for dinner. The menu offered a good choice and well priced. The food was delish. The hotel staff were lovely and really friendly. The room was perfect. My only criticism was the waiting time for breakfast the next day. It was lovely but took 35mins for a full english. There was a festival on, so it was busy but everyone was waiting for long periods and getting food at different times. Worth a visit and value for money.

Nice clean n tidy hotel, lovely bar, friendly staff and the quality of food was great. Been there a couple of times and it's been good. Food n drink is quite pricey, but good quality so I guess you get what you pay for. Excellent position for a stop over for long journeys.

Hotel is comfortable, quite, clean with a lovely bathroom. Netflix on the TV , tea and coffee. We had dinner over in the pub which was good. Big portions. We had a curry ,cause it was curry Thursday and the flatbread with falafels. The breakfast was also big. Did take a while to come and unfortunately the sausages were a bit overdone. Otherwise a good experience.

Went Friday late afternoon, we decided to eat indoors (there are also tables outside) there were a few other diners, we ordered at the bar, the starter and then the main course arrived very quickly. They have several vegetarian meal options. Tthey happily accommodated my partners request to change her Caesar salad to a different one (probably my error when ordering) which arrived in a couple of minutes. The quality of the food was excellent, the restaurant was clean, each table even had a double socket and double USB socket on the wall next to it (though didn't need to use this and would have needed an extra long cable) and we had a very enjoyable experience. This is our fourth visit and we'll certainly visit again.

Room very clean and spacious. Had access to netflix on TV which was a bonus. Tea, coffee facilities. Hairdryer and iron also available. Bed comfortable although we didn't find the pillows very comfortable. All in all a lovely room. Food was okay, not brilliant in adjoining pub for the prices that were charged, serice a little slow at times. Breakfast disappointing as the poached egg was hard not runny. Pub was a little loud but to be expected when football was showing on TV. Great location as very near motorway. Would definitely stay there again but would take own pillows and maybe eat somewhere different.

Highly recommend the food here. Got two courses for less than £20 which included a beer which is great. Staff are great and service is really quick and the food won’t let you down. Atmosphere is great and overall a great place to either go and have a few drinks or have a meal out.

Great location just off the M56. Nice clean room but air conditioning would have been welcome in the warm weather. Great size car park and lovely food and drinks in the cat and lion pub next door.

Stayed for a family gathering, rooms immaculate and tastefully decorated. Food was amazing so much so we came back for breakfast. The staff are really welcoming, went above and beyond for our party and are a credit to Joseph holt. Will be staying again next time we’re in Cheshire.
