Absolutely Devine! Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food. I had the fish pie followed by mandarin crumble and it was amazing. Everyone I was with loved their meals too. Service was friendly and attentive. Not cheap for pub food, but then it wasn’t cheap pub food! Would definitely recommend.

We are non fequent visitors of the White Bear (id love to visit more but we aren't local as such therefore come mainly for special occasions and a real treat) Booked a table for my husbands 40th when we arrived a lovely waitress came over and explained there was technique issues in the kitchen and couldn't have apologised enough. We were contemplating going to there sister pub but decided to stay. I'm glad we did as my dinner was delish, all staff polite and great service provided as always the pub was busy but great food and service was given. We celebrated my husbands 39th there and now this weekend his 40th probably do the same again next year. Beef goulash is a must try!!! Thanks for a great night.

My partner, son and I visited last night as we've been before and loved the food and service. Last night was no exception! As always the food was delicious and my partner even said his steak was the best he'd ever had anywhere before & he's visited many many restaurants. The White Bear will definitely be top of our list! 5 star!

I can't fault the beautiful surroundings, it was very relaxing. The staff were very helpful when I asked for advice about places to walk nearby. The greasy chips however weren't great, but that's just splitting hairs! I love this place and will be back :)

Me and my husband visited today and what a beautiful day it was. Not a cloud in site . Thank you to the lady who let us have a hotdog and burger from the shack as she did say they had closed but did russle us both up some food. Which was much appreciated as we were both starving. What a beautiful setting . Will be returning what a great place

We love The White Bear. We were lucky enough to get a table in a sweet little window and were able to watch the Biggin Hill Air Show while eating our lunch. The service was first class and the staff were, as usual, more than friendly and helpful. We have always felt the staff were polite and very attentive. Our food was amazing and we cleared our plates with ease. The pudding (sticky toffee) was delicious and the waitress even thought to bring an additional spoon so we could share my dessert, albeit reluctantly. This place has a comfortable feel and very warm and welcoming. We are frequent users and look forward to the next time

Great food and despite the pub being really busy on a bank holiday, we had great service too! Definitely recommend.

Proper . Old fashioned country pub with good beer, nooks and crannies to sit in but plenty of space, friendly staff, a fire in the fireplace, lots of seating outside for summer - it's January at the mo & pretty bleak. We weren't eating but the food looked great. We'll definitely be back. Fantastic.

Visited Sunday in the hope of getting a table for 3 (including our greyhound) Unfortunately they were fully booked and we were told that its best to book a few days ahead for Sunday Lunch. But they managed to find us a table at the bar and set it up for lunch. I found The White Bear to be a superb country pub. The staff including the owner Lee and his wife Sian couldn't be more welcoming and attentive. While the other customers where very friendly and open to conversation. It did feel like you had set foot in to your local pub. In fact I would love this pub as my local. The food itself were hearty meals, very enjoyable over a good beer and glass of wine (the dog is doing dry January) and was plenty of choice including a nut roast. Over all if you are looking for a quintessential English country pub. With good food, friendly staff and patrons. Then The White Bear is by far the best choice.

Great place for an afternoon pint, good beer and a nice ambiance. Lady at the bar was lovely, didn't try the food because there was no walk in ordering, needed a reservation overall good experience!

I wanted to visit a new countryside pub and this place got good reviews, so I checked the website and read the menu... At first glance I want impressed. What looked like regular food, sausage and mash, fish and chips and hunters chicken etc.. I thought hummm, it didn't sound impressive but let's give it a go anyway. The pub itself is beautiful and when entering we were greeted by welcoming and friendly staff. When the food arrived my jaw dropped.. the food was presented so well, I had to take my phone out to take a picture! The food itself was incredibly tastey and we both thourghly enjoyed our meals. I can't wait to come back for more!

We have been coming over for approximately 5 years now.. food has mostly been excellent, though there has been changes in the menu which sometimes seemed unnecessary and inexplicable, like around 3 years ago they stopped temporarily stopped serving chunky chips in favour of thin, hard ‘fries’ which sucked! Happy to report that today’s meal was as good as ever, we had roast salmon and steak, with extra chunky chips just for good measure. Staff were also excellent, very friendly and lovely. Hope they keep up the standard of staff and even upgrade the menu, as their old menu was better, even though the present one isn’t bad at all.

My cousin and I were looking for a dog friendly pub close to home and the menu at the white bear caught our eye. We arrived and the staff were super friendly. Once they sat us down in a beautiful secluded part of the pub, I already felt special. .. but once we realised they'd sat us down beside an open fireplace, all I heard was "Take a seat and I'll get Lee to get the fire going." It quickly became a super romantic setting all of a sudden, and i just wished i shared that moment with my other half!! But It's fine... i got the next best thing 🤣 Lee was such a great guy (the fire starter). Really informed us about the food and also him being an avid dog lover himself, he really took the time out to speak to us and talk about his love for dogs which is what we love!! (We hope to meet you one day Nala and Nanook!!) The waiter who took our drinks was super friendly and even told us the makeup brand of her highlight (thanks babe). And the guy who took our food order. Thanks for letting me change my chips to mash bro ❤️ can't forget about the lovely ladies behind the bar who gavee our dog Frankie all the treats 🥰 was the first time this evening I step foot into the white bear but certainly not the last! Thank you so much guys!! Mel & Dani xxx

Went in with a group for some drinks. Staff and service was very good. Ample of seats indoor and outdoor. Booking a table is highly recommended. Large car park and bike parking racks. Prices of drinks were more closer to London bars.

Great family and dog friendly country pub. Loads of outdoor seating and a nice menu of sandwiches and main meals! There is quite a large car park enough for a few hundred people. Phine ahead to book a table inside at peak times

This is such a love old country pub, the food looked absolutely amazing. There is a big car park so don't worry about it being out in the lanes. The staff were really friendly, it was my first time there but it will definitely not be my last.

Tucked away this place is a little gem with a great ambience and friendly service. The food is great, fresh and reasonably priced. There's plenty of parking and sitting outside. To top this up dogs are allowed which is always a massive plus for me.

I’m leaving this 5* review to cautiously remind the refurbishment team that this is my favourite pub. The history of the place and all it means to me would surprise you. If you turn it into a typical modern faux-flashy haunt for the hard of thinking, I will haunt your nightmares. Please don’t do too much. Take care of my favourite little spot and I will love you forever. P.s. The past year was horrendous. I went once and it broke my heart. Don’t do it again. Xx

Love this pub in Warlingham! Fantastic food, gourmet pub type, not just standard fair. Great drinks and service. The drive up to the pub was beautiful too! Usually go to the Botley but I have to say this might be my new favourite!

Fabulous food, amazing service! We found this country pub whilst out on a drive and wanted to grab a Sunday roast, so called them (during COVID restrictions) and they obliged in giving us a table for 2 even though their eating areas were mega busy! And our experience got even better from there. We had probably the best roast dinner I have ever had, (no exaggeration) and were attended to by some extremely friendly and accommodating staff and even spoke to the chef. We were so happy with the meal that we ordered dessert and coffee, the whole meal was great value for money and I will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family. The only downside is that you will have to drive to get there but the countryside views and idelic position makes this a worthwhile trip for a great bit of food!!
