A fabulous restaurant in the middle of sleepy Wargrave. The menu is not extensive but what's on it is delicious. We opted for the venison with veg and the chicken breast with gnocchi and mushrooms. Both dishes were cooked to perfection. The waiter was very attentive, amiable and friendly. And it's always a nice touch when the waiter comes out to say hello and gauge their clientele. Highly recommend!
Had a fabulous roast dinner here today. Amazing value at £15 for three courses and a lovely wine selection. I’d definitely recommend this place and looking forward to returning to try the midweek tapas.
Great food. Great staff. Wargrave hidden gem! Really recommend it to all!
Amazing food and wonderful waiter. Will be going back again as so many wonderful meals to try off the menu
Such a charming little restaurant!Romantic atmosphere, delicious food, amazing cocktails and a really helpful and welcoming host all contributed to an amazing evening here. Can only recommend it :-)
Great meal here tonight, superb ham hock starter, melt-in-the-mouth pork belly and brilliant honey & lemon sponge to finish. Definitely be back!!
Went for a lovely meal on Friday night. Absolutely nothing negative to say - truly outstanding food (completely well thought through and everything extremely tasty and perfectly cooked), excellent service, proper cocktails made with brilliant thought and knowledge, good wine list at reasonable prices - and we can walk there and stagger back! Definitely going to make the effort to go more often.
Lovely place , warm and friendly staff , amazing food!!!
Thank you to everyone at the Weirgrove for a fantastic Swenglish Christmas lunch yesterday. The food was amazing, and the service spot on.
Intimate setting, great service, beautiful food - a great night
Amazing Sunday lunch today and fantastic service. Our first visit and certainly not our last - thank you.
I go every Wednesday for tapas and the occasional Friday and am blown away each time by the dishes absolutely exquisite!
A quaint and friendly independent restaurant. Our waiter was charming and took time to explain the menu which had a selection of carefully crafted dishes. As a table of six, we all ordered something different which is testament to the choices on offer. The vegetarian dish was (i'm told) very nice.I had a Duck main course which was very succulent. The wines and drinks on offer were quality and distinctive. A fabulous eatery and highly recommended.
We had a wonderful evening! The food was very delicious and the 'special' cocktails were very lovely😍
Thank you for that and hope to see you again soon😉
Situated in the village of Wargrave the Weir Grove’s proprietor Karl is originally from Sweden. The restaurant is contemporary and tastefully decorated with a very pleasant ambience.
Service is professional and attentive. The menu includes specials of the day. This evenings was blue tuna. Check out the photos of the venison dish and the chicken dish as well. Servings were generous and the food was excellent.
The kitchen was spotless and you can take a peek through the glass window in the door! All food freshly cooked and much of it sourced locally.
Verdict: Would I return again? Definitely. And well worth the visit. Be sure to ring and reserve to avoid disappointment.
Had a great meal with my girlfriend this evening. Lots and of flavours and skills on display as well as a fabulous environment to enjoy them within. Thoroughly recommend a visit if you are local or within 25 miles. You won't be disappointed!
Best English breakfast I’ve ever had. Genuinely perfect. Karin has a culinary gift that seems to be rare to find. She cooks with care and passion. It’s worth coming to the little Thames side village of Wargrave. The name ‘Wargrave’ actually derives from the restaurant namesake ‘Weir Grove’.
Amazing little restaurant, so glad we found it. The portions are big, the food different and so tasty and the service from Karl is spot on. Will definitely be back again soon
Excellent robust food nicely presented. Under a mildly glossy presentation style (not criticism) the food is homely, satisfying and tasty. Service was good.
Excellent food and service. A small family run business. British cuisine with Swedish influences. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Had a lovely meal. Venison was the best we've ever had. Pork belly was delicious too. Excellent service.
What a great find this was. Booked a table of 8 via the website for Roast Beef Sunday. Wow, very impressed, will return for another very soon, and Tapas night and Tasting menu
The food and the service are excellent. The 'one meat' menu choice on a Sunday is uiriy but they offer a vegetarian alternative. The portions are large and the staff are more than willing to offer you more if you dare. The puddings are some of the best suited day puddings I've had in a while.
The food was good, but we're a little disappointed with the actual restaurant. Very small and felt (and smelt) like an old grandparents home! We were surprised to have booked a table on a Tapas only day (this was not mentioned on the website, or maybe we missed it). Although the portions were very small, the food was well cooked and we did enjoy ourselves.
