After a long journey down for a weekend away with the kids we popped in for a spare of the moment booking. Very accommodating and booked us in before we arrived 15minutes later!
We were greeted and shown our table and were made to feel very welcome.
We had the Sunday roast beef which was outstanding. As a Sunday roast pro this ranks there in the top 3 I've had. The beef was like butter and the gravy was delicious... would happily sit and dunk potatoes and bread into the gravy all night long.
A very good pub wish it was more local to us! Thankyou
A very humble and welcoming vintage style pub. The staff are brilliant, and make you feel at home. The pub has these low beams and little tucked away areas to eat, which made me feel very cosy. Dog walkers and muddy feet wanderers welcome.
The main meals can be a bit pricey.... But you do get what you pay for. We had food from the lunch/small bites menu, which are actually big portions at around £14 each.
Beautiful food, great service. A lovely homey feel. Staff are very welcoming. Definitely will be visiting again. Great that they welcome muddy paws too! 🐾🤩
Called in at 'The Silent Woman' mid afternoon hoping to get something to eat. There was a wide variety of dishes so my husband opted for beer battered fish and chips, and I had chicken schnitzel, wedges and salad. Both meals were delicious. Unfortunately, we were both so full afterwards we didn't have room for dessert . Nevermind, there most definitely will be a next time. Before I forget, I must say that our waitress was lovely. She was attentive, polite and appeared to enjoy her job. She is a credit to the business.
When we are on a break at Wareham forest we come to this pub.
The new owners have some amazing staff that we as Publicans ourselves would love to employ, such a warm welcome with an amazing smile and definitely mad as a box of frogs, there is no hiding her enthusiasm for the job , a true asset and can sell ice to Eskimo’s as well as quality ales and wine to us.
Met the landlord who is also the chef who I must say definitely knows his stuff and also can cook like a demon. I had ribeye which was perfectly cooked with the best onion rings and sauce I have tasted in a very long time. My partner had T-bone steak and was equally impressed. Beautifully cooked meals. Wish them well for the future in their endeavours at The Silent Woman.
Visited for Sunday lunch, online reservation was simple & easy. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we entered, the service was friendly and efficient. I had the extra large 3 meats roast, it was huge, every thing was lovely. Not the cheapest Sunday lunch that I have had but most definitely one of the best. They also allow dogs. We will definitely be back.
We recently had the pleasure of dining at The Silent Woman Inn in Wareham. We were immediately greeted by the friendly and welcoming staff, who made us feel right at home. Our little son was also made to feel very welcome.
We all had roast dinners, which were absolutely delicious. The meat was cooked to perfection, and the vegetables were perfectly roasted. The gravy was rich and flavorful, and the Yorkshire puddings were light and fluffy.
We were impressed by the fact that the food was fresh and locally sourced. We could tell that the chef took great care in preparing our meals, and it showed in the taste.
The service was also excellent. Our food came out quickly, and our drinks were always topped up. The staff were attentive and friendly, and they went out of their way to make sure we had a great dining experience.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience at The Silent Woman Inn. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in Wareham.
The food was outstanding. I had the Cumberland sausage ring with mash and onion gravy. And wow I was blown away with the insane amount of flavour. My partner had the rump steak and that was also cooked to perfection exactly how we asked the steak to be cooked aswell. Also the key lime pie, Amazing!! Very cozy pub, good selection or alcohol and very welcoming staff that make you feel right at home. This is a must go to place if you are ever near Dorest.
This was a wonderful find which we discovered through the book “ 111 places in Poole that you shouldn’t miss”.The pub has a very interesting history as described in the book involving world leaders and members of the royal family.
We ate food which had been cooked on the premises which was delicious.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. We went on a quiet Thursday lunchtime in early October.
The Christmas menu looks delicious
and we will definitely revisit when we are next in the area.
Really enjoyed our beef Sunday roast. Perfectly cooked vegetables. Nice Yorkie. A substantial meal. Pizza was the only alternative though so not much choice if you didn't want a roast dinner. Very good service from the staff. Would go again.
Perfect for anyone who wants a good meal and has a dog or children in tow. Lots of outdoor seating and shaded areas.
The food was very good and beautifully presented by friendly young people who knew their job.
I had fish and chips-very good. My grandchildren enjoyed chicken chips and peas.
Very confident that anyone using this pub will have the same positive experience.
Excellent standard Sunday roast chicken, served quickly as we were there before the majority of lunch attendees arrived. I’m sure atmosphere would be very good when the pub has more patrons. Would definitely recommend.
This pub has changed hands in the last year.
We had a lovely meal; my wife had the stuffed pork loin and I had the 12oz rump steak. The steak was cooked to perfection and the pork loin was excellent.
The staff are very friendly and the pub is dog friendly. It's only 1/2 mile from Hunter's Moon camp site and there's a path to walk, without going near the road.
We didn't eat here but the food did look amazing its a lovely country pub with parking and some lovely outside areas inside the restaurant and bar are huge, everything was lovely and clean with pictures and items from days past and the farming community that lived and worked in this area. The Family who own it are just starting out and they are pouring all the time love and effort into this pub. Very handy on a got day after a long walk in the forest opposite or if you are just passing through, give them a try you won't be disappointed.
The staff were friendly and very accommodating letting us delay our dinner to enjoy a drink in the garden. The only criticism was the gravy was very salty and this was already on our Sunday dinner. Would prefer to have the gravy separate as I would not have put as much on and neither would the children. We did like like the fact though that we could get a Sunday lunch late on.
We booked for a Sunday roast after hearing great reviews and it didn't disapoint.
When we walked in, all staff were very friendly and welcoming - they showed us to our table (we which was easy to book online). Jack gave us the menu and took our drinks order. Service was quick, the food was hot and tasted amazing!
Would definitely recommend and go back again.
Fantastic dog friendly pub/restaurant very friendly and helpful service, food is spot on and big portion's
They hosted my mothers 80th birthday. Everything from the atmosphere, the staff to the food was incredible.
We then went back a few days later for lunch and all had a fantastic meal.
I haven’t been to this pub for nearly 25 years, and now it will be one I go to every time I’m in Wareham.
I really can’t rave about this pub enough!!
