The sort of proper local pub you wished you were within walking distance too. Great beers, food including vegan options and lovely Landlord / Landlady

I've just experienced the best steak and ale pie I've ever had, and I've eaten a lot. Made fresh on the premises by the landlady, it was the closest to a Desperate Dan cow pie I've come across. Highly recommended. Other than that, it has all the virtues of an uncomplicated local pub. Warm and welcoming ambience, warm and welcoming landlady, landlord and staff, and friendly locals too. They've definitely not seen the last of me!

Try the Cajun chicken burger. Great burger and fattest chips I've ever had which have definitely been cooked at least twice. Outstanding! Lovley staff to.

Under new management since reopening post pandemic and doing amazing Turkish food. Has been great each time we have been there and a really good addition to the area. Highly recommend a visit.

Staff was very friendly and tried to accomodate any needs/wants. I ordered the promo special pictured and the burger looked NOTHING like the picture; very plain, no veggies or cheese. Unrelated, we were offered complimentary popcorn and a lamb wrap. Both my daughter and I enjoyed our girl date and would try this place again.

We travelled to spend time with our family & our son booked The Royal Oak to have a meal to celebrate a birthday, it was just a lovely visit. The food was great ( all made freshly ) The staff were excellent very very helpful & the price for 5 of us was really good. Would definitely like to go back again.

I have lived in the village for 26 years and have never come here before as it didnt look appealing from the outside but decided to have a meal here after a friend's recommendation. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, hot, portion size was decent and we didn't have to wait long at all. I sat in the restaurant part and it was cosy and clean. The only negative thing I want to mention is the smoking area (or where people chose to smoke) was directly outside the door, which isn't nice and I feel this would deter people from coming in if they were passing. I will definitely be returning soon!

This pub is exactly what you would want from a village local. The staff are attentive and give a warm welcome every time you arrive. We have had some brilliant nights and we look forward to many more. Now that the kitchen is open again we can't wait to come in and eat as the food looks lovely. Thank you for what you do it's truly awesome
