Still a family favourite. My Grandma and Grandad used to take me here when I was little. The Singing Kettle is a small cafe at the top of the parade of shops. It is nice and bright due to the dual aspect windows and very clean. The owner was telling us that it has been there since 1962, although she has only been there for 11 years. It was wheelchair accessible and family friendly. They offer a wide variety of meals all cooked to order. The vegetables were all fresh and cooked perfectly, the pie had plenty of filling, the roast meats were moist and we were allowed as much gravy as we wanted. The owner was extremely pleasant and nothing seems to much bother for her. They have a baby changing room that she is happy to let you use even if you are not a customer as the public toilets in town have been closed down. Fantastic value for money and well worth popping in for either drinks or a meal.

How can I put into words the taste, atmosphere and wonderful staff. The best thing I'd say is to go and visit them. The owner most charming person I've met, full of enthusiasm about food All prepared there using fresh ingredients none of this frozen rubbish I give the place out of 10 an easy 25.

Absolutely brilliant - such welcoming and friendly service which was very attentive; beautiful surroundings thanks to all the windows which flood the place in light and you can happily watch the world go by. They even have an area for the kids to play in which was fantastic as my husband and I could actually sit down whilst they were wonderfully engaged. They have high chairs and a baby change which made life so easy. The food is totally delicious and home made. They cater amazingly well for gluten free eaters, and even have a separate fryer for gluten free food - so at long last I could have chips!! We will be coming back again and again - brilliant food, wonderful atmosphere and great experience.

I was looking for a roast dinner. Ended up her purely by chance, as other places booked up. And I was so pleased. A lovely warm place, and a great roast dinner. Would love to go back to try rest of the menu.
