Much improved after the refit. Clean and welcoming inside and a large number of tables outside ,front and back garden. The choice of drinks and (especially) ales is unusual and wide. The food was good and no complaints (well, 1 tip could be to add some parmesan to the Caesar salad, if you were fussy
Great selection of beers, although the range lacks a proper fruity east coast IPA. Food good, the cold meat selection on our starter was excellent. Helpful staff. Recommended for a visit for sure!

The George became our local 1.5 years ago when we moved round the corner. This is the perfect place to unwind after a hard days work or chill out at the weekend. We lovel the cosy feel of this recently rennovated pub which still keeps a traditional vibe. Recently we held our engagement drinks here
Sign suggests it is a Young's pub but hasn't been for more than 4 years ...on the day I popped it was busy with a mix of drinkers and family tables. I had an excellent pint of Harveys. Hadn't been for a while but had a really nice meal with family and friends. Varied menu, good stock of beers and lots of choice in outside seating.
The recent refurb has made the second room much nicer and a great place to watch sport. There are loads of outdoor seats at the front and a covered area with a TV out the back. A good selection of drinks with a focus on the owners local brewery Big Smoke.
Great pub with amazing atmosphere.
Had lunch at the George, the food was fab (chicken bap and chips), good value and were full at the end of it. Service was really good and the beers went down well to go with it.

At the pub there is an amazing Thai cuisine called nuntana Thai cuisi. A must try .. quality is amazing. Quantity I must say if u are a heavy eater you might find it less but normally I found it just perfectly right. Service is great so is the area. It has a small car park accommodating 4 cars.. you

Decent enough food, massive improvement on previous ownership. Would welcome a few more guest draught bitters though.
Good beer, friendly barstaff. Relatively good prices, food available. Seating inside and outside.
