My latest Sunday roast here was not quite as good as it was a few months ago... The beef was tough and fatty and potatoes kind of dry and flavourless. Plus portions have been down sized and there’s not nearly as much yummy veg on the plate...? Gravy was yummy though.
And bear in mind that I did eat rather late in the eve, so maybe they were running out of stuff?

This place was an absolute gem. The bar staff were really friendly, there were some great deals on drinks and the garden was fantastic. I will absolutely be returning if in the area and would probably go out of my way to call back for a pint!

Chequers has been my local for the last 10 years. The good: a nice range of beer and great pizzas. It's all exposed brickwork, vintage armchairs and shabby chic vibe, but the beer garden out back is big and welcoming. The bad: the downstairs eating area is sometimes overwhelmed by the smell of urine from the men's toilets. The pub really needs to sort out its plumbing. Also, while the barstaff are friendly enough, the main barman (I think he's the manager) has a terrible attitude and seems to think his job is to chat with his mates and ignore customers.

I didn't have food so can't comment but they have a good range of reasonably priced beers. I went and took part in The Chequers Open Mic evening and had a great time with with great people and wonderful atmosphere. I will definitely go there again.

I love this pub. I celebrated my afterparty wedding here and me and my team had the time of our lives. Then I booked for Christmas dinner. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel as home. Today, I went for my first Sunday roast of the year. Definitely, my favourite pub in Walthamstow.

Great pub, my friend has just moved to Walthamstow so we stumbled in upon this place and went 3 days on the trot. Proudly waving the LGBT+ flag in the window, but not a “gay bar”, the whole vibe is just as the world should be - gays, straights, of all ethnicities and backgrounds just having fun. No attitude, homophobia or racism to be had here, just a good pub with fast service and a huge beer garden. Lots of TVs and space and we watched the World Cup final here. Perfect. Had food on the Sunday and it was nice pub grub. A bit expensive but this is London prices, can’t complain and well worth it. Drag queen on Friday night had a fantastic voice and very entertaining! Top marks! 👍

Super craft ale (Five Points is my favourite) and the buffalo 🦬 🐓 wings were immense. Also football on three screens.I like Fin who works there. He is friendly guy.

Love The Chequers, great staff, big outside space, good playlist, sport if you want it but not intrusive. In the colder months they do the best roasts.

This pub has gone through a numberbof changes in its life. Historically it is a coaching Inn, to becoming a notorious night club. Eventually being shut and disused for a number of years. A new breath of life came a few years back. With a funky distressed look and feel, the pub now has a vibrant atmosphere with regular drag acts and retro DJs. Food comes in the form of a various pizzas . It also boasts a number of large screens for sporting events . The outside area is partially covered with timed heaters. Drop in on a Saturday lunchtime to catch the market atmosphere.
