L’Hirondelle makes the best coffee in Walthamstow. Their amazing cakes and patisserie are baked in the back bakery. Sandwiches are not bad. Great value for money.
Wonderful place to eat; I make an hour's journey to go to Walthamstow in order to eat their sea bass, and the journey is well worth it.
Delicious food, friendly and kind people (once they kept open extra 15 minutes waiting for me to finish eating! I hadn't realised closing time was 6 pm, it was extremely kind of them) and very reasonable prices.
I love the place! Highly recommended!
Simply the best. Been coming here since I was a kid. Amazing coffee and don’t even get me started on the gorgeous, authentic cakes and pastries. All for the most reasonable prices for London. Staff always lovely!

Whilst looking for a spot of lunch during our stay in Walthamstow, we found this gem! The staff were so welcoming and friendly and made us feel at ease straight away. The food was delicious; all freshly made. Atmosphere was really chilled, we found a table in a cozy corner of enclosed courtyard at the back 👍🏻
Came here a few times when I was working locally. I was a regular for coffee and breakfast. They’re coffee is amazing, and also their chocolate croissants. Their bakery section leaves you in a twist, spoilt for choice. Customer service is really good too as they engage with all their customers, weather you are a first timer or a regular. I’d definitely stop by if I’m in the area again!
We were planning a picnic and just walking g past their window when we noticed the food looked SO tasty.
So we ordered a giant jerk chicken burrito to share between two of us, a slice of salmon gratin and some broccoli salad. It tasted even better than it looks, the portions were extremely generous and the owner and staff were so friendly, kind, and helpful, we will most definitely be back!
Really cute place inside with a back covered outdoor area. Food and coffee was reasonably priced and all tasted great. Order at the counter and they bring everything to you. Lovely little spot next to the station and opposite a row of chain restaurants!
EDIT: Just tried the brownie, too delicious not to share a pic of!
Top Independent coffee shop that’s been here ages and continues to serve a great coffee and delicious fresh pastries. Good value too.
No sign on the outside, walked past it initially.
Great coffee, and very reasonably priced. Pastries, treats in the window looked great 🍽️
Only issue was the service - when I went to pay, didn't get any confirmation the payment had went through as the server was already talking to someone he knew. Does influence a return visit!
We popped into this place as we were seeking cake and the window display looked incredibly enticing. Beyond the colorful range of delicious-looking cakes in the window we were met with an abundance of cookies and other bakes inside. We chose a slice of chocolate cake and a slice of strawberry cake to share. Both were mouthwatering. Soft, flavoursome, and with creamy fillings and a rich glaze. I had a freshly squeezed orange juice (there were a number of juices available) whilst my friend had a coffee.
The décor in the back part of the shop is somewhat tired but inoffensive. There was sufficient room to allow us to talk comfortably. I was a little concerned by the toilet door which appeared to be warped and was therefore very difficult to open, (especially as the handle was loose) but the facilities were clean.
The staff were warm and friendly and the service was efficient. All in all a comfortable place to enjoy very tasty cake on a rainy afternoon.
I love the staff! I love the coffee and atmosphere.
What a lovely place! Just take a gander in the window and you’ll be entering in no time. Non-challant but a unique charm, delightfully unpretentious & zero hipster attitude. Very friendly staff and a cozy covered back courtyard space for light & fresh air. I only had time for a delicious chocolate-covered orange cake but everything looked marvelous. Definitely make a point to stop in, you won’t regret it.
nice cafe, really good croissants and pain au chocolat.Staff are friendly and the places looks much nicer after refurbishment. Just make sure you're early for the almond croissants cos they go quick !
Welcoming and good value for money. I had a gluten free gooey almond biscuit with jam! Lovely.
Fantastic food in a peaceful setting! The food (a selection of fresh salads, galettes, quiches, sandwiches) was tasty and great value. Delicious coffee and a quiet seating area in the back (or the choice of a table in the sun out front!) A real gem of a place that I'll be coming back to many times
My husband bought a varied selection of cakes, eclairs and biscuits for Eid and they tasted amazing. The portion sizes of the cake slices are perfect, the rose water flavouring in the biscuits was just perfect. We will definitely be back soon. We just wish they had delivery available and online ordering, they are missing a lot of custom by only offering in house dining or take away.
This café is a pure gem, and quite possibly one of must visit places in Walthamstow.
The best cafe ever, doesn't need a sign out front to keep you wanting to come back for more. Been eating there for years and the Paninis are world class!
Good customer service and you can enjoy your coffee with sitting outside.
Excellent food and service as always. Came here after 6 years and place was absolutely fabulous.
