Fantastic cafe. Waitress knows my drink as soon as I walk through the door. Always made to feel welcome. Lovely food.

I have been going to this cafe on the occasional Sunday morning for years and have never been let down.
Waltham Abbey still has a village mentality. The saying goes "Waltham Abbey people are born there, grow up there, marry there and die there" This community effect is easily observed in the cafe. People across the generations going there clearly know each other but still welcome newcomers so you immediately feel part of the crowd.
It is currently run by a Turkish family and they have maintained the high standards of previous owners.
The food is freshly cooked using good quality ingredients served in big portions for the price. The menu has a wide range of meal types including vegetarian and vegan
Today I went there with my daughter and two grandchildren to put it to the test and it passed with flying colours. They kids ate until they were full and enjoyed everything on their plates. A very rare event.
To support my community comment as we were finishing 10 teenagers from the local football team arrived in their kit and the staff moved the tables so that they could sit on one long table together. The others in the cafe not only didnt complain but openly approved of their footie representatives being afforded respect by the cafe staff.
They now do online ordering which means you can pay by card. A really positive step which cancels out my one historic gripe of having to get cash out before going there.

I liked it, made me a tasty sandwich or two. Bread is good, perfect for an egg, I forgot to ask them to season it, but they are professional they Knew. If you want a fried egg sarnie, and who doesn't, this is top notch!!

Portion size is more than you would expect and they have a menu that will meet anybodies appetite, as for cost it is very good value for money and to put this into perspective the last time we went we paid under £30 for two adult full breakfasts, two children's breakfast and five drinks
A good cafe not posh coffe shop but good food & plenty of it make this a must for those who prefer food over atmosphere

The whole family love this place and we visit often. I love avocado on toast or sometimes just a full English! Great lavatza coffee too 🤎
The food is always fresh and well cooked, lots on the menu with home cooked meals like liver and bacon as well as the usual breakfast and burger and chips. Can get noisy at busy times.
