Booked in for lunch. On arrival asked by name without prompting. Showed straight to table. Very friendly staff and atmosphere. Order taken as soon as we were ready. Food very good quality. I had Gourmet Chicken "sandwich". It was a tower of chicken, bacon, egg and tomato on the tastiest Sun dried tomato bread. Great value. We also had breakfast after staying in the Premier Inn. Staff as friendly and efficient. Shame no bubble but breakfast excellent. Well worth a visit.

To be honest we were going to the Sun but they were shut. I had a bad meal here a couple of years ago but my son in law and daughter chose this pub so I went Well I am glad I did the waitress was very friendly and efficient and the food was out of this world. I had had a long hard day and this was so welcome and relaxing I was glad we eat here rather than getting a take away. I highly recommend this place can't fault it and will come again

Stayed at the hotel several times now. 3 years ago the service in the pub was abysmal. Last 3 or 4 times it has been completely different change of staff and management. Now a pleasure to eat and drink there.

Stephen provided great service, friendly, very attentive while also being busy with other guests. Our food was great, Camembert cooked perfectly. Gammon & fresh pineapple was 👍 fish special also cooked just right 👍 crispy pastry on the beef pie👍 Tables were busy but the atmosphere was calm and relaxing for dining.

Jan 2022 Awesome venue. Very cosy interior. Fireplace! Wonderful food and staff Updated 25 Jan 2023 Not as good as 2022. Staff still excellent, but no lighted fire.

First time at this Pub. Staff were friendly and but professional. I had the roast beef for Sunday lunch. It was delicious with a glass of Antigo Fuerte, Malbec which paired perfectly. The roast was a generous portion with a good range of vegetables. I had a sorbet for dessert (lemon and raspberry flavours). Very refreshing and a great palate cleanser. Meal was reasonably priced to boot. Higgly recommended for couples or family dinners. Definitely will be going back.

Visited this lovely pub on a Sunday afternoon and although the staff said they had been busy and run out of many dishes, we were still able to order food we liked. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and although busy, still made sure we were looked after and nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced and in a quiet location l. We had an all round great dining experience. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and look forward to visiting again

Food was wonderful as always. The decor in places was unattractive and that is the only thing bad I can say. The staff were attentive and wonderful...again as always. A great place for a Sunday roast! Love it here.

A lovely spot outside watching the sunset with a chilled glass of wine after a long drive. Staff were great, friendly and attentive. The sticky toffee pudding is one of the best we’ve had!

Evidently recently refurbished, squeaky clean and attractive place to eat. Good gluten free catering options; electric vehicle charger available. Would have been five star rating, however my first sirloin steak was full of tendon/sinew and was rejected, meaning I had to wait a while for a second, replacement, meal whilst my party finished their main courses. Second steak was better. Also, as it was a sunny Bank Holiday Monday it became very busy meaning service speed and attention deteriorated as our meal went on, with servers looking rushed. But would return.

Pleased to leave a positive review for the Baker's Arms, Waltham Abbey. After a tiresome day at work, the usual trials and tribulations of dealings with the (not so) premier inns it was a welcome relief to enjoy a very satisfying and well cooked meal at the adjacent Baker's Arms (Chef & Brewer). On entering the premises I was immediately greeted by the extremely efficient, friendly, professional staff where everything was taken care of without any hassle or pretences and nothing seemed too much trouble - my thanks to Jo, John and Stephen for looking after me! Well cooked; good, honest traditional food nicely presented and I could genuinely taste the freshest ingredients - delicious (thanks chef). If I'm ever around the area again would definitely return to dine here. Best wishes from the man in a world of his own!!!!

This is a place where we have eaten many times over the last 18 years when we moved to the area. This was our first visit since the refurbishment. We enjoyed our food and the waitress was excellent. Unfortunately the pub has now gone cashless which is not convenient for me and sadly will mean that I'm not as likely to return. Please consider accepting cash again, not everyone wants to pay electronically.

Great venue. Food good, service good. It's not the best place I've ever been but went there 3 times in one week, food was good, Little weak on the veggie options.

Visited last week and really like the new refurb, it's really well done and the new outdoor area is lovely. Staff are really nice too. However there's some strange rules, which I presume come from head office, regarding the outside area that do not make sense at all. We ordered our food and drinks but were told we can only eat under the pergola. This was full of people who were mainly just drinking and no tables were free. However all the tables where smoking is allowed were empty. We said we didn't mind sitting there as my friend smokes anyway. But no the only alternative was to eat inside which we didn't want to do as it was a lovely summers evening. We were lucky that a table became free just as our food arrived but we did contemplate leaving. I think the management need to rethink this and allow more space for people to eat outside.
